St. Canard, the city that never sleep and neither does crimes of evildoers. Inside the tall building that was once a base of operations of Negaduck's many hideouts, a purplish portal appears outta nowhere and out comes Negaduck, who has 'successfully' escaped from the hands of Mozenrath and the others back at Dark Kingdom's castle.
"Ahh St. Canard, how I have missed you. And how will you'll belong to me once again!" Negaduck takes a look from the long glass window, viewing the city, and gives a quick evil laughter. "It's a shame I had to leave that castle early though, I was getting comfortable too, at least those idiots had to ruin my fun. Well I will indeed show them how it's really done when I build myself an army so huge and powerful, even Maleficent would be impressed. And then once Phase One is finished, I'll begin Phase Two by taking back this city and eliminate Darkwing Duck is an added bonus!" Negaduck thinking out loud of his current planning as he takes a sit on his brown leather chair.
"Now the question is, whom should I recruit? Right off the bat, I already got Megavolt, Quackerjack, Bushroot, and Liquiditor on hand, but whoever else?" While Negaduck ponders and begin writing down his ideas on paper, in another part of the city opens up a similar portal, which Negaduck is unaware others chased after him and currently lost track of pursuit.

A tidal wave of electric-blue magic erupted from where Mozenrath emerged. It washed over a city block, singing several walls and toppling a small tree, but harmed no one.
He'd assumed Negaduck would be right there on the other side of the Corridor. Upon finding that his crime had been property damage rather than homicide, Mozenrath gritted his teeth.
"So he thinks he can fly south for the winter and away from me, is that it..."
Only then did he stop and take a look around. His eyes traveled over top of the towering skyscrapers, among the electric lights, past the parked cars he'd dented with his assault...
Xerxes flitted up beside him. "Well, Xerxes," Mozenrath remarked, "we're certainly not in Babylon anymore."

Negaduck and his former comrades were not the only villains to enter St. Canard this evening. Just a few minutes before the portals had opened, a villainess to had come to St. Canard all the way from Duckberg. It was none other than Magica De Spell, the Queen of Shadows and Scrooge McDuck's most fierce enemy. Upon her arrival, the once powerful sorceress gazed upon the city of St. Canard with a menacing glare." "So this is St. Canard? Hmph, what a miserable dump. No matter. I can feel powerful magic emanating from this city. The rumors about Morgan MacCawber must be true. Prepare yourself Morgana, for soon you shall face Magica De Spell! Mwahahahahaha!" Magica laughed as lightning flashed in the distance.
"Ooookaayyy...Have fun with that lady. And don't forget to write me a good review on Ubird and a tip." A taxi driver said before driving off an leaving Magica De Spell alone.
"Here's a tip! DON'T ORDER A DARK SORCERESS OR YOU'LL END UP BEING TURNED INTO A COCKROACH!" Magica shouted as he drove away, but it was already too late. It did pain her that she had to stoop so low as to use a phone app to get a ride to St. Canard. Oh how she hated McDuck for stealing her magical powers and leaving her only enough magic for parlor tricks and having to rely on magic charms. But, if all went according to plan, then she could take Morgana's powers for her own and then finally get revenge on Scrooge and clan McDuck. "Ahem. Now where was I? Oh yes, seeking Morgana, stealing her magic, and then TOTAL DESTRUCTION OF MY MOST HATED CLAN! Now let's see, MacCawber Mushrooms should be right about-"
Before Magica could finish, she felt something. A powerful surge of magic. No, multiple surges of magic across the city. She wasn't exactly sure what kind of magic this way, but it was strong. One felt very powerful and destructive far away, while another felt closer. Emanating from a tall building a few blocks away. "Hmmm...there maybe more magic in this city than I thought. That makes things more interesting..." Magica says as she walks towards the tall building.
(OOC: While the portal might be caused by the device, I am taking some liberties and saying the portals are magical since Negaduck built the portal machine from stuff in Maleficent's castle which are likely enchanted. That way Magica has a reason to go towards Negaduck since he just came out of a portal.)

Post by The Phantom Blot on Mar 16, 2020 20:22:11 GMT
On the edges of St. Canard stood a dilapidated old observatory. Once used to observe the stars over the city, now sitting abandoned and forgotten. The owner of the property had failed to find anyone who was willing to take it off their hands and eventually just let the old thing be, cutting their losses and leaving to start over elsewhere. Maybe in Duckburg - nothing strange and bizarre ever happens there, from what they remembered from the news.
However, little did they know, a new tenant had decided to settle down after fleeing from his old, rustic cell a few cities away and giving the coppers the slip. It had taken him a while to renovate the place into a worthwhile secret lair/hideout, but now...
"Just a little more... a little to the left... Aaaaaand... There!" The Phantom Blot proclaimed after slightly adjusting the photo of his stickler parents upon a dartboard on the side of the observatory wall. He dashed over to the center of the room where a seat and desk were propped up next to the massive observatory telescope, and picked up a strange gun with a muzzle that ended in an ink nib.
"And now for the piece de resistance!" He excitedly shouted, before aiming the weapon towards the dartboard and fired. A heavy splotch of dark liquid sailed through the air before smoothing the family portrait and dartboard in ink. "Ah ha! And now, this new secret lair of mine is PERFECT!"
He flopped onto the chair and spun around a few times, cackling to himself. "What a breathe of fresh air, to finally be away from that meddlesome little rodent and his pesky companions. I could do with some quality 'me' time... Oh, who am I kidding! I came to St. Canard with a fresh new set of capers I'd like to try out. And this time, no do-gooder is going to stand in my way of becoming the world's most dastardly - and ruthlessly charming and handsome - super criminal in the world! Ha HA!"
Amidst all his guffaws and self-loving bravado, the Blot barely noticed a twinkle appear in the lens of one of finderscopes of the telescope. However, nothing stays out of the criminal's gaze forever. "Oh ho? And what's this? Some commotion in the city? How quaint. Perhaps I should take a look-see."
The Blot adjusted the telescope to witness some strange swirling vortexes appearing in the city, hoping for some prime time action that could lead to a potential scheme.
[OOC: Thought this would be a good set-up for PB as to how he's in St. Canard and for him to witness anything that will happen. That way he can rush in if anything nefarious starts occurring.]

Post by Flintheart Glomgold on Mar 16, 2020 21:13:08 GMT
While all of that was going on, another third party had recently entered St. Canard. Though this one was in it for business reasons.
Ever since, he helped defeat the Moonlander invasion, Flintheart Glomgold's usual bad reputation, had seen a sudden boost in popularity. After all, it was his scheme that helped turn the tide of battle and save the Earth, from becoming a moon. Naturally, Glomgold relished all the attention, using it to boost his ego and the credibility of his company, thus helping him to further his never-ending quest, to surpass that annoying, goody two-shoes Scrooge McDuck. And so, it was that he had recently traveled to Duckburg's neighboring town of St. Canard, in the attempts of buying out an up and coming company. Adding them to his expanding empire, would greatly help his future ventures. With his newfound admiration, and soil proof buy out speech, he was sure to succeed!
…he was kicked out, only 5 minutes after entering.
"GARGH! How could I have failed?!" Glomgold muttered angrily, as he picked himself off the ground. "It should've been perfect! I walk in, I meet the crew, I threaten to them the lot of them into my shark invested aquarium if they don't agree to sell the company, I get the company and then finally humiliate McDcuk! WHERE DID I GO WRONG?!"
Begrudgingly, he walked back to his car, frustrated by the whole ordeal. "A three hour long drive WASTED! Now, how am I suppose to find a new secret weapon, to become the richest duck in the world?!"
Just as he said that however, he noticed something quite bright in the distance. His curiosity peaked, he quickly swiped the binoculars of a conveniently nearby bird watcher, and looked towards the source. Slowly, his curious frown, turned into a mad grin.
"Well…that'll do nicely!" He started to chuckle softly, with soon grew into a crazed laugh…until he noticed a blue blast of magic charging towards him. He quickly ducked out of the way, his tail feathers barley avoided getting singed.

Post by Professor Ratigan on Mar 16, 2020 21:29:20 GMT
The professor's landing was rather rough, to say the least. After joining Mozenrath and the others through the portal, he ended up landing on his bum, onto of the modern pavement.
"I knew this was a bad idea," he muttered, as he stood back up. He should never have charged in so blindly. That kind of behavior was something more befitting his rival Basil, not an intellectual or mastermind as him. He soon forgot about that however, as he took a look at his surroundings, and was quickly marveled by his location. Compared to Maleficent's castle and his home world of London, this place was unlike anything he had ever seen. Self moving carriages, incredibly tall buildings, bright lights, devices that made sound and voices, DUCKS THE SIZE OF MEN. Everywhere he looked, there was something completely new, that amazed and confused him.
"What is this wonderland?" He asked, his amazement barley kept hidden.

After coming out of the other end of the portal, King Candy landed on his face, reverted to his King Candy form, and went unconscious for a while. After regaining consciousness, he looked around and noticed that he was in a city similar to the real world. Except there were no humans, but instead there were ducks that acted like humans.
For now, King Candy felt that it was best to regroup with Mozenrath, Ratigan, and the others, and make plans with them to defeat Negaduck. After all, Negaduck may have been looking for allies himself.

"So, what, me and you?" Mozenrath asked Ratigan.
"And Xerxes," the eel piped in.
"...And Xerxes," Mozenrath groaned. "Is this our whole adventuring party?"
Suddenly, he remembered at least one other party who'd gone through the portal.
"Maybe we should leave now," he suggested to Ratigan, "before his royal saccharine-ness catches up with us."

Post by Davy Jones on Mar 17, 2020 15:32:56 GMT
Jones charged out of the portal, his sword raised. However, his pace slowed when he realized that Negaduck was nowhere to be seen. Davy wasn't an expert on the workings of magic portals by any means, but he surmised that either Negaduck had managed to outrun them all and was now hiding somewhere nearby, or there was the possibility that the portal may have deposited Negaduck somewhere else entirely. Lowering his sword (but not sheathing it, since there was still the possibility that his enemy was somewhere nearby), Jones paused for a moment to take note of his surroundings and hopefully figure out where he was. However, he was not at all expecting what he saw.
The captain stared in awe at the place in which he had found himself. He had seen many strange things in his lifetime, but he had never seen a place quite like this. A city with towering structures that seemed to touch the very skies, including a giant bridge. The paved streets were filled with carriages that moved without anything pulling them, and behind a glass window in at least one of the buildings, there were strange boxes that showed moving images. The entire city seemed to glow with light, and overall appeared to be far more advanced in terms of technology than any city he had seen in his own world. It was then however, that he noticed the inhabitants of the city. This entire city, it seemed, was populated by large ducks and other animals, all of which walked upright, wore clothes, and spoke like humans. In other words, it was an entire city of Negaducks. Admittedly, this would probably make his search for the fowl much more difficult. If Negaduck was indeed here, he would likely try to blend in among the locals to avoid being found. Or, assuming this was his homeworld, he would likely try to gather allies to strike against them. Both of these would place obstacles in their path, but neither was insurmountable. At this point, it would probably be best to try to reunite with the others who had gone through the portal. Already he had spotted Mozenrath and the rat whose name he had yet to learn nearby (the sorcerer rather stuck out among the strange populace of this world).
"I don't suppose either of you have any idea where we are?" Jones asked as he approached them.

King Candy managed to catch up with the others. Aside from Mozenrath and Professor Ratigan, Davy Jones was there too.
"Oh hey, there you all are. Listen up, if we want to apprehend Negaduck, we need to work together, even if any of you guys don't like me. For all we know, he could be gathering allies of his own. Therefore, I propose that we put our differences aside and work as a team on this mission. Who's with me?"

"…too late for that." Ratigan muttered towards Mozenrath, upon Candy's sudden return. Still, loathed as he'd like to admit, the fool had a point. They were strangers in in a strange land, where Negaduck had the advantage. The only way they were going to survive in here, would be to do their best, to work alongside each other for the time being.
That, or they could simply replace the undesirables, as in King Candy, with more useful and powerful allies.
"…I suppose, if it means getting our revenge, teamwork would be more suitable for now…though, by no means does this makes us friends."

After taking a single dramatic step that placed him as far AWAY from King Candy and as CLOSE to Davy Jones as he could get, Mozenrath sighed, "All right. If only because the larger of a team we have, the less chance there is he could pull another escape attempt. Though I call dibs on ripping out his throat."

King Candy figured that Mozenrath and Ratigan wouldn't take kindly to him being around them for that much longer. But at least they agreed to work as a team to catch Negaduck, and that was good enough.
Just as he was going to discuss with the rest of the team what their next move would be, King Candy saw Clayton coming.
"Hi there, mr. Clayton! Haven't seen you in a while! Anyways, we've agreed to work as a team to increase our chances of catching Negaduck! Come join us!"

"Very well then", Jones said, looking over the group who it appeared he would be working with for the time being. "Let us begin our search." He took particular notice of the new arrival, the man who King Candy had called 'Clayton'. Davy didn't recognize this fellow, and he didn't seem particularly impressive at first glance, but the others seemed to known him, so he assumed that he must have been one of the others that had been summoned to the castle, who he had not crossed paths with yet. At any rate, he seemed willing enough to aid them in their quest, and there would be plenty of time for him to prove his mettle in the battles to come.
"For now, I'd suggest that we venture to find out something more about this place", he said, addressing Mozenrath and the others. "At the moment, Negaduck has us at a disadvantage in that we know nothing of what awaits us in this land. Perhaps we could remedy that with a bit of reconnaissance. If we are fortunate, we may even cross paths with someone here who knows something of Negaduck."
