Post by The Horned King on Dec 12, 2019 16:55:33 GMT
"Boorish simpletons..." the Horned King muttered to himself, watching his "allies" bowl straight into one another. No coordination whatsoever. What a frenzied fiasco Varian's pet had crafted.
Though, the lich shared the same sentiments as Mozenrath: Ruddiger was important to one of his allies, and by proxy, to the Horned King. Ruddiger getting injured... or worse... would surely not bode well for the morale of the young alchemist - and would adversely affect the plans the king had in motion. Losing a mind as brilliant as Varian's would not be opportune.
He'd have to step in to resolve this situation before anything worse befalls on them.
The Horned King stepped forward, passing the others while observing the scene with his old eyes. Negaduck's bomb filled the hallway with smoke, obscuring everyone's vision. Ah. The raccoon might just be as crafty as his master.
"The beast hides within the smog," the Horned King called out to anyone listening. "I shall deal with it."
From his hand, a orb of green and white began to swirl around, picking up pace the longer it stayed in his hand. After a few seconds, the lich swiped his hand in one fast motion, the orb bursting into a small but powerful gust of wind that dispelled the smoke, sending it away from their spot in the hallway.
...Though, it had been some time since he had used other magics. He hadn't anticipated it to be too strong of a gust - could he have blown away the beast or the others?

"Distraction?" Mozenrath repeated. "I think I can handle a DISTRACTION."
He charged up several lightning orbs in his palm, ready to strike.
However, now that the Horned King had blown away the smog, he would need to ascertain the position of his target...

Clayton slowly stood up "Well, lets hope the distraction doesnt goes like your shield!" Clayton noticed one of the boxes he had crashed against, ' sédatif', it was on french, but it didn´t took to be billingual to assume what it was "Jackpot" He smirked

Post by Professor Ratigan on Dec 12, 2019 18:46:06 GMT
While most everyone in the room, was mostly unaffected by the sudden wind, Ratigan was not so fortunate. He was quickly swept by the powerful breeze, and tossed into the air, screaming all the while. He could only hope, that the others couldn't see him now.
After floating around, for what felt like hours, the wind finally stopped and he landed, on a rather soft surface. It was not until he had recovered, and swallowed back his vomit, that he noticed he was on the back of the giant Ruddiger.

Ruddiger swung towards his target under the cover of the smog, but thanks to Mozenrath's spell, Clayton had pushed Negaduck out of the way just in the nick of time. Even worse, the smoke was clearing and leaving him exposed again. Ruddiger also failed to notice the rat riding on his back. Still, Ruddiger's anger filled mind was determined to get Negaduck. And if any of these fools got in the way, then so be it. Ruddiger began to charge towards Clayton and Negaduck again with incredible speed.

Ah, there he was.
Mozenrath launched the projectiles from his hand, which began to explode like tiny fireworks in the air. Their particles ricocheted off each other, little webbings of electricity connecting them as they burst. And they did so loudly. Really, they were just noisemakers and bright lights. If anyone ran into them, they might feel a light burn or shock, but nothing more. It was more about keeping Ruddiger's attention at bay.

He noticed the beast charging at him, he couldn´t load his gun at time. Sure, he could grab his knife and fend against it, but as Mozenrath said, that would just give them trouble with Varian.
He realized the only option was to apply the syringe manually on the giantic rodent. He attempted to dodge, hoping Ruddiger would clash against the wall.

Post by Percival C. McLeach // Joanna on Dec 13, 2019 16:05:43 GMT
Joanna was taken by surprise by the sudden gust of wind, trying to get closer to the ground to not get knocked back by it. Admittedly, though, she did get hit in the face by something. After shaking her head a bit, she looked down on the ground to see what it was.
And it was the Shiny!!! ...she must have gone to far in trying to find it. Oh well. Now she could pick up the shiny and bring it to-WHERE DID THESE FIREWORKS COME FROM??
As one could see, Joanna was taken by surprise at the bright lights Mozenrath was firing at the big Ruddiger that she almost dropped the shiny. But, very carefully and with squinting eyes, she began to scurry back to Mozenrath with the shiny in her mouth.
Meanwhile, McLeach kept digging through the crate until he found what he was looking for. "There you are, ya beauty," he chuckled, already opening his gun to load the tranquilizer.
The lights admittedly may have not been the best distraction, but it would most likely serve well enough. He took aim, trying to avoid Clayton, and fired tranquilizer at the only part of Ruddiger he could see: his backside.
Admittedly, he wasn't sure if the tranquilizer would do anything more than just slow it down. If magic was involved, it may hinder the tranquilizer from taking full effect. All the same, he had another tranquilizer at the ready.

"MY CRYSTAL!"
Mozenrath quickly crouched, hand outstretched to Joanna. "GIVE IT HERE!" he demanded.

Post by Professor Ratigan on Dec 13, 2019 19:32:48 GMT
Ratigan tried desperately, to hold onto Ruddiger for his life, but between the Raccoon's constant movement & Mozenrath's blinding attack, it was getting harder by the second. The poor professor was all ready starting to regret his earlier decision to stay here. Though, when the light finally ceased and the beast calmed down a bit, Ratigan things seemed to have finally calmed down. Breathing a sigh of relief, Ratigan attempted to make his way down, but on his way spotted both Clayton & McLeach. Both of them, seemed to be carrying tranquilizers, and were no doubt attempting to use them on the giant Ruddiger.
While slightly afraid of being shot, it would no doubt be a good way, to finally pacify the beast. Or at the least, calm him down enough. Though he doubted the beast, would let them get a shot in. It seemed to be determined on hunting down Negaduck, who was currently besides Clayton, and if the foolish duck kept up his stubborn streak and attack, it would only serve to anger the beast further, making it more unpredictable. But…if he could manage to diverge the Ruddiger's attention, and keep him in one place, perhaps he could make it an easier target for the hunters. It was fortunate then, that he happened to be on top of the Raccoon. Perhaps this, would be his moment to prove his worth. And, he stealthily crawled towards Ruddiger's head, grabbed the Raccoon's ear and chomped right into it.

With everything that’s currently been happening so far, Negaduck is in a deep pause and thought about his next strategy/move. If the crystal by chance has any magic left, he’ll first act as the decoy. “Stay where you are Clayton, I got an idea in mind. One that nobody will see coming.” Negaduck pulls out his grappling hook gun and shoots at Joanna, only to retrieve the crystal once more back to his possession. Shortly afterwards, Negaduck heads for the exit with the crystal in hand. “Hey you stupid ugly rodent! I’m right here, come and follow the Duck!” Negaduck taunts Ruddiger by sticking his tongue and blows, leaving everybody else either furious or unsolved clueless and Negaduck quickly ran out of the Storage, in pursuit.

"Wait, WHAT - " The goanna, apparently, no longer had the crystal. Negaduck did.
AGAIN.Apparently, the duck hadn't learned exactly how irrational Mozenrath could get on a bad day. "YOU ARE NOT GETTING AWAY WITH THAT A SECOND TIME!" Mozenrath bolted after Negaduck, charging a large plasma bolt to unleash. "AND FOR GOING BACK ON YOUR WORD, YOU DESERVE WHAT I'M GOING TO DO TO YOU THIS TIME!"

When Mozenrath cast his spell, Ruddiger stopped in time to only feel a small burn from the lights. It was deja-vu for the monster racoon as it reminded him of when the citizens of Corona tried to lure him into a trap with torches. He backed away slightly as he avoided the fireballs.
But suddenly, Ruddiger screamed in pain as he felt Ratigan chomp on his ear. He began scratching away at his ear trying to knock off what had bitten him. Though in that moment when he paused, one of the darts McLeach shot had hit his back side. It made Ruddiger feel a little drowsy, but it did not stop him. The dose was still too small for something of his size.
That's when Ruddiger saw Negaduck again taunting him. Strangely though, he soon saw Mozenrath chase after him. It seemed Ruddiger had a new friend now who wanted to get the duck. Ruddiger smiled as he now had an idea.
Running at high speeds and trying to shake off the grogginess, Ruddiger ran trying to head off the duck, so Mozenrath and he could surround him on both sides. Then there would be no escape for the duck.

Clayton attempted to apply the sedative to Ruddiger, McLeach just made him drowsy, another injection and the rodent would be sleeping, but ... Clayton charged his gun with the sedative, after the whole thing was over, he would speak seriously to Negaduck about this and it certainly wasnt going to be anything 'nice'. He proceed to follow Ruddiger, Negaduck and Mozenrath.

McLeach watched dumbfounded at Negaduck as he ran away from the group. They had everything they needed: Sedative to knock the creature out without hurting it from Clayton and himself, distractions from Mozenrath and even the rat guy, and Joanna getting the crystal back to Mozenrath.
...and then Negaduck just threw everything out the window.
"What the..." he had to pause in dumbfoundment as everyone else left without him. "I'm going to kill him."
As he grumbled, he quickly went back into the crate with bullets inside and picked up one extra tranquilizer and a lot of regular shotgun shells before he began to walk down the hall to pursue.
"Joanna," he commanded, finally looking towards her, "With me, now-"
And that's when he saw her.
If Joanna was awake, the last thing she would remember would be bringing the crystal to Mozenrath. She was almost there...and then nothing. Unknown to her, Negaduck's grapple-hook knocked her on the side of the head, causing her to lose the crystal, which ended up launching slightly in the air and landing in Negaduck's grapple hook in time before it went back to him. She currently lay motionless on the ground.
"Joanna!"
McLeach quickly ran to her side, kneeling down to check her pulse. It took a moment for him to realize in a big of relief that she was only unconscious.
"..."
But what he saw in front of him only fueled his rage.
"...NEGADUCK!!!!"
