Clayton noticed Ratigan approaching "Sorry for not greeting you before professor, it seems most of us were caught in a..." He saw the mummy-like figure whom he still assumed it was one of the five throwing Mozenrath against the pets "...Unexpected situation..."
The Professor gained a small smile. "Oh, think nothing of it my friend. Actually, I was hoping you might be able to lend a hand. You remember the boy Varian? He's currently working on a device, that will benefit all of us. He just needs some metal parts, and as you might imagine that might be a bit difficult, for some one of my…current size. I don't suppose, you would be willing to lend me a hand, with some of the carrying?" "I dont think that would be some trouble, might as well take the opportunity to meet him in person" Besides he could take the opportunity to get away from the whole ruckus "By the way, I don´t think you have met my asociate yet"

Ratigan assumed he was talking about the other hunter, who had interrupted the fight from earlier. "Aww yes, the one with the strange accent. I must say, he was surprisingly level headed, despite his appearance. Though, judging from his reaction to me, he doesn't look too happy to see me."

(OOC: Just thought of something that might be fun. ) As Ruddiger wandered around the corner the crystal began to glow. It seemed there was still a bit of magic stored within the crystal, possibly from Mozenrath's gauntlet or other magical relics within the castle. Where ever the magic came from, it seemed to be reacting to Ruddiger and the small drop of Varian's growth potion. Though it seemed the effects had faded, the magic still seemed to react to traces of the potion still on the racoon. Soon the magic moved from the crystal into the racoon. It reacted to the potion and soon Ruddiger began to grow again. Only this time, the magic amplified the effect and made him even bigger and more powerful than before. Gone was the small and silly racoon, and in it's place was a gigantic beast. The beast walked around the corner and dropped the crystal in it's paw. It no longer cared about the tiny crystal, Ruddiger's attention was focused on something else. It's eyes glued onto the one who started this whole mess and tried to lock him up. Negaduck! Ruddiger roared as he charged towards the duck. (OOC: Good new is the crystal is up for grabs again, bad news is there's a giant racoon on the loose. Also thought this might be a good way to establish that magic can strengthen Varian's potions.)

Clayton prepared his gun to shot at the monster
(BTW, just an slight warning, Clayton is unaware that Ruddiger is Varian´s pet, as far as he is concerned, he is a regular raccoon, so he wont heshitate to attack him. That being said...I assume in his monster form, bullets wouldnt do much?)

Post by The Horned King on Dec 11, 2019 3:18:30 GMT
The Horned King watched as Mozenrath flew and fail to retrieve his quarry by mere inches. Some monster rancher the young sorcerer turned out to be - even if the lich knew that was far from the truth the young sorcerer meant during that conversation in the gardens.
Though the crystal mattered little to the king, Mozenrath's ownership of the map of the castle and the need to find an empty location for the cauldron was most prevalent. Annoying though it may be, it would do no good to lost him in the winding halls of the estate.
However, just as the lich was about to follow, one of the mortals from inside the storage room stood before him. Another daring to order him to stand aside. Not only that, but he was the clear owner of the reptile that stepped over the king's feet. That kind of indignation could not be simply overlooked, now could it?
The Horned King held his ground, glowering at the hunter known as McLeach. "You are either awfully confident or infinitely foolish if you dare to order me around. Not after your lowly creature stepped upon me like nothing more than dirt. Perhaps I-"
That was when, out of the corner of his eye, he spotted the transformed Ruddiger, followed up by a deafening roar.
Certainly not the turn the king expected this situation to take.
"Perhaps... just this once I could overlook you and your beast's transgressions..." the lich chuckled, backing out of the doorway to allow McLeach a fuller view of Ruddiger down the hall. "Though, you may find that bodyguard far less... accommodating than I."

Post by Percival C. McLeach // Joanna on Dec 11, 2019 3:46:21 GMT
Before McLeach could respond to the Horned Kong’s, he was able to see the beast from afar. He did not see the transformation itself; just the result. His jaw dropped as he took in the monstrosity...but he made a bit of a glare at the King for his last comments.
”Just shut it and help,” McLeach commented, dropping the crate down to the side of the storage door away from the Lich. “But, if it pleases yer high-and-mighty ego, I’ll punish my ankle-biter for ya when this is done.”
He quickly pulled out his Winchester from the crate and followed Clayton out of the storage area. As he scanned the scene and took aim, he noticed something glimmer on the ground behind the beast...and near to Joanna.
Wait...could that be the raccoon? Joanna was ordered to watch the raccoon and there she was next to it. There was no blood on the ground, so it didn’t seem like the beast ate the raccoon...so maybe it changed into it?
Either way, McLeach knew it had to be knocked out at the very least. And what was the shiny? He looked through the scope on his Winchester directly at it...and the shiny thing was the crystal!
He began to think fast.
Meanwhile, right next to the transformation, Joanna stopped and watched in fear as Ruddiger turned into a beast. She couldn’t move: only flinch. “Holy sh-“
”JOANNA!”
She quickly turned to McLeach’s voice, seeing him taking aim at the beast.
”Get that shiny,” he commanded, pointing past her before pointing to Mozenrath with the second half of his command, “and get it to the Wizard!”
Joanna turned her head back to see the crystal on the other side of Ruddiger. “Well, this should be fun,” she grunted sarcastically. She then proceeded to try and get around Ruddiger to get the crystal. “I swear, if I die in all this...”
“Clayton! Negaduck!” he started, pointing his gun at the rock-tunnel ceiling. “Help me knock it out with the rocks above!”

All right. So there was a lot going on here that Mozenrath had to unpack.
The good news: he now had a goanna doing his job for him. He would soon have his crystal back.
The bad news: the giant monster.
Well, this wouldn't be a problem, would it? With his magic and the others' gunfire, this beast would be no problem. This beast which had once been a raccoon.
...Wait.
He'd seen that raccoon before.
"DON'T SHOOT IT, YOU IDIOT!"
He surrounded Clayton in an impenetrable shield of blue magic. Any gunfire would ricochet into the inside now. McLeach was fine for now; the rocks would probably only tranquilize it.
"THAT MONSTER IS A FAMILIAR OF A VALUABLE ASSOCIATE!" Mozenrath yelled. "DO YOU WANT TO START A WAR WITH AN ALCHEMIST?"
Because politics were totally the reason he was doing this.

Ratigan smiled rather contentedly. After all the madness involving Mozenrath & Negaduck, things were finally starting to calm down…not two minutes later, a giant beast, who looked remarkably similar to Ruddiger. suddenly appeared out of nowhere, much to the shock of everyone, Ratigan included. He was starting to miss his old life in London. At least there, he wouldn't have to worry about these creatures.
Now normally, Ratigan would've been taken this opportunity, to run out of there and get as far away from the beast as possible. And, he had all ready made good progress on getting himself out of there, but what stopped him, was the words of the hunter. He had acknowledged Clayton & Negaduck, giving them orders to help him out…and yet, he had completely ignored him. Now, on the one hand that was a good thing. If he hadn't noticed or cared about him, he could've made his escape more easily. But on the other hand, it also made him seem like a liability. Someone to be ignored and not as valued as the rest of the villains. And that, infuriated him to no end. He had gone from the top of the food chain, to the bottom. And it sickened him.
Well, it's time to finally do something about that, he thought. And with that, he returned to the fight, carefully hiding by the sidelines waiting. If he kept out of it long enough, perhaps he could find a weak spot or advantage, to help turn the tide against the transformed Raccoon.
(OOC: Sorry if my responses can be late. Sometimes it's kinda hard role playing, because I'm always doubting wether my course of action, feels in character for Ratigan or not).

After awhile Negaduck was searching for the raccoon, he found it but instead gotten transformed into gigantic beast and was charging towards Negaduck. Negaduck was shocked at first, but that wouldn’t stop him taking the raccoon down. Ignoring the orders/warnings from either McLeach or Mozenrath, Negaduck pulls out a black bomb and throws directly at Ruddiger. While the bomb couldn’t do any damage, it however stunned & temporary blind the raccoon for a matter of seconds.

The bomb would have stunned him if it managed to hit him, but more frightening than Ruddiger's appearance was his speed. Ruddiger moved out of the way right before the bomb made contact with him. While the light from the blast did hurt his eyes for a few moments, but not for long. And worse yet, the explosion had created enough smoke to give Ruddiger an advantage. Much like when Varian blanked Corona in a thick fog to launch the first phase of his attack, Ruddiger used the smoke as cover to sneak around and was quickly making his way behind Negaduck to prepare for a powerful sneak attack.

"WHAT - NO!"
Mozenrath rounded on Negaduck, screaming, "DID YOU NOT HEAR ME?"
However, in the heat of the moment, he forgot to disconnect the action of casting the barrier currently around Clayton from the hand that had turned sharply with his body - meaning he had just whipped Clayton around toward Negaduck as though the man were enclosed in a giant hamster ball that had been given a kick.

As the explosion happened, Joanna was also blinded. First by the light of the bomb...then by the smoke. While she could at least hear where the bigger Ruddiger was, she could no longer see the crystal from the smoke. Where did it go?
“Dumb duck’s gonna get me killed,” she worried in her language, slowly looking around and feeling for where the shiny could be.
Meanwhile, McLeach was able to block his eyes before the explosion happened, quickly turning to Negaduck after the explosion.
“I said the ceiling,” he barked towards the duck, “not the floor!”
Not that he would have heard him. As soon as he finished his words, he saw the duck and Clayton get sent flying by something. He didn’t realize it was Mozenrath.
“Blast!” He exclaimed, looking around for an idea. All he could see right now was the sorcerer and his crate of bullets...
...there wouldn’t happen to be tranquilizer darts in the crate, would there?
He quickly turned back to Mozenrath.
“Until you get your crystal back, we need to either clear this smoke or just draw the thing out here,” he shouted towards Mozenrath, backing up quickly towards the crate. “If you can distract it, I’ll see if I can find some something to knock it out.”
He then put down his gun next to the crate and began to look through it.

“Clayton! Negaduck!” he started, pointing his gun at the rock-tunnel ceiling. “Help me knock it out with the rocks above!” "Doesnt sounds hard to do" Clayton said, preparing his gun to shoot upwards the beast, but- All right. Oay, sure, he saved him from getting on trouble with another associate, but he would have prefered for Mozenrath to rather surround the beast in the magic shield. He started hitting the shield with his gun "Fine, I´ve got it! Just relase me from he-" He was interrupted by what happened next "WHAT - NO!" Mozenrath rounded on Negaduck, screaming, "DID YOU NOT HEAR ME?" "AH!" The british hunter said as he crashed against the duck.
