Mozenrath flinched away from Negaduck; "Don't you touch me." Straightening up and dusting himself off, he tried to keep calm: "Of course I know that the only way this operation will work is if we're both on the same page. Therefore, I'm willing to put Negaduck on parole. If he gives back what he stole...he gets a second chance. He stays out of my hair, I stay out of his feathers." He held out his right hand to Negaduck, palm open. "Give it back. NOW." Xerxes could practically feel his heart breaking as Joanna abandoned him. Had he not made a true friend? It was almost enough for him to stop squirming altogether. But then he remembered - Ruddiger! What if the little raccoon could help him? He cast a pleading glance toward Ruddiger. Ruddiger caught the glance and nodded his head. He slowly crept behind Negaduck as quietly as possible. Then once he was right behind Negaduck, he pounced up on him and began scurrying around all over Negaduck's body, searching for anything strange that might be the object Mozenrath was looking for. Though finding it was tricky as Negaduck seemed to have numerous deep pockets. Many of which somehow contained impossibly large weapons in tiny pockets.

…Did he have to save the eel. Mozenrath didn't seem to care about his current predicament, though that probably had more to do with his current grudge against Negaduck, and his supposed ally had practically abandoned him, so would it really matter if he let the Horned King strangle Xerxes to death? It's not like anyone would care. Ratigan was SO close to just abandoning him…but, he knew that once Mozenrath was done with the Mallard, he would soon focus back on his familiar…and probably wouldn't be too happy, to find him injured with no one having helped him. Perhaps, stepping in to try and help, could earn the Professor his favor. Loathed as he wanted to admit it, he still needed all the help he could get, as long as he was rat sized. And so, it was up to him, to help the eel…*Sigh*, how he had missed the help.
Cautiously, the professor approached the Lich, still rather unnerved by the horrific looking creature, though rather unsure on how best to approach him. Attacking him was out of the question, nor was asking him nicely, so the only available option for now, was to appeal to the King's ambition: "My lord, not to intrude, but is it wise to throttle the poor thing like that? I doubt Mozenrath would be too pleased, if he were to learn that you may have accidentally killed his familiar."

You already caused enough problems as there is!” Negaduck grabbed hold to Ruddiger as he’s pointing his feathered finger at the raccoon but doesn’t want to keep Mozenrath waiting forever. Negaduck then kicked Ruddiger right out towards to the exit.

As McLeach watched Ruddiger get sent towards the exit, he looked down at Joanna. “Joanna, he commanded, “Follow that raccoon. Make sure there’s no more trouble.”
Joanna nodded a lot in response as she began to scurry after Ruddiger. She slowed down around the zombie guy and quickly stuck her tongue out again at Xerxes. “See ya around, drongo,” she hissed as she went to check in on Ruddiger.

Ruddieger flew towards the exit and slammed hard against the wall, but not before accomplishing his goal and getting the crystal from Negaduck. Though unfortunately, the raccoon had hit his head very hard and was now in a complete daze. Ruddiger walked around in a dizzy trance holding the crystal without realizing it and wandering aimlessly away from the storage room.

Mozenrath had seen the glimmer. He knew where his prize was.
"MY CRYSTAL!"
He bolted for the entryway to follow the raccoon. Of course, the Horned King was not so easy for him to bypass.
"AFTER THAT RACCOON!" Mozenrath barked at the lich.
Well, he certainly didn't have any residual fear of him now.

As Joanna heard, Mozenrath, she also noticed the shiny crystal. She was quick to get in front of the raccoon in an attempt to stop it from going further.

Attacking him was out of the question, nor was asking him nicely, so the only available option for now, was to appeal to the King's ambition: "My lord, not to intrude, but is it wise to throttle the poor thing like that? I doubt Mozenrath would be too pleased, if he were to learn that you may have accidentally killed his familiar." The Horned King glared down at the professor, Xerxes still squirming in his grasp. "What does the life of one insignificant familiar matter to one such as yourself, professor? Don't tell me you pity the poor creature." He shook Xerxes some, reveling in the poor eel's misery. It was not too unlike the feeling of showing his former head minion, Creeper, what it meant to fail him over and over again. However, at this point it wasn't so much as relieving stress as it was simply excess torment for the sake of it. It was clear that Ratigan desired to stay in favor with Mozenrath, as there was no way anyone of their ilk would do something out of kind-hearted altruism. However, before the Horned King could call the rodent out on that behavior, the skirmish between Negaduck and Ruddiger sent the raccoon hurtling towards the exit. Though Varian's pet hit the wall next to the lich and was clearly dazed, it still managed to stumble passed the Horned King, stepping right upon the sorcerer's foot as he did so. "Gah!" The unexpected weight and feeling upon him caused the king to let go of Xerxes, his angry eyes whirling about to see where Ruddiger meandered off too. Similarly, the large reptilian pet that Xerxes called "Joana" moved passed his legs, also stepping on his feet, earning another cry from the lich. Mozenrath had seen the glimmer. He knew where his prize was. "MY CRYSTAL!" He bolted for the entryway to follow the raccoon. Of course, the Horned King was not so easy for him to bypass. "AFTER THAT RACCOON!" Mozenrath barked at the lich. Well, he certainly didn't have any residual fear of him now. And the last thing the lich needed was to be ordered around by the owner of the very familiar he was "holding on to." "By all means..." the Horned King gave a low growl before latching his gnarled hands upon Mozenrath's shoulders. He dragged his fellow sorcerer out of the doorway and saw the scampering creatures darting down the hallway. Despite his rotting appearance and stature as a sorcerer, many knew not that the king was once a rider and warrior eons ago. And if he could lift the meddlesome brat Taran or the corpses of his fallen soldiers, he certainly could lift the Lord of the Black Sands. With a roar, the Horned King tossed Mozenrath towards the pets. "Catch them, O mighty beast wrangler!"

Once he kicked out the raccoon, Negaduck proceeds looking for the crystal within his pockets but only now noticing it’s not in his deep pockets anymore. “No no no no no no, where is it? Where is that stupid crystal maybe?” Negaduck looks back where the exit is at, Ruddiger has the crystal in his possession and this angers Negaduck once more. Negaduck pulls out a two gauge shotgun within his pockets and starts blasting at the raccoon but misses. “I had up to enough to this raccoon’s attics. When I do find it along with my profit, we’ll be having raccoon stew tonight!” Negaduck shouts with loaded shotgun as he makes his exit, beginning the search for Ruddiger and the crystal.
(OOC: So since everybody is about ready to leave the Storage for the time being, I think it’ll be fun if everyone who is searching stumble into different rooms & perhaps even interact with villains they haven’t yet.)

Ratigan barley had enough time, to register everything that happened. One minute, he was talking with the Horned King, and then suddenly the Raccoon had decided to pickpocket Negaduck, taking the crystal with him, and was currently being chased by the Mallard, the animals and Mozenrath himself (the latter having been thrown by the king), leaving him and a few others.…well, at least now he didn't have to lower himself any further. Though it would make gathering metal a lot harder.
…Oh yes, he was supposed to do that wasn't he? Funny how things, can be so quickly forgotten. And unfortunately, he wasn't anywhere closer to that goal. Luckily for him, there were still those two hunters that stock around. Perhaps, with the right incentive, he could potentially convince them to help him out. He was all ready quite familiar with Clayton. It shouldn't be too hard to convince him. He had been meaning to speak to Varian, about upgrading his weapon. With enough luck, he could get the McLeach onboard for the same reason. With that, the Rat approached the two hunters.

"WHAT THE - NO!"
Mozenrath hurtled toward Joanna and Ruddiger, in for one undignified crash landing.
[OOC: I seriously love this roleplay because things happen like me coming back to see that the Horned King's action was to YEET MOZENRATH]

As Joanna suddenly realizes that she is currently sent on a mission that's about to be impossible, she begins to scurry out of the way of the flying Mozenrath.
"What did I get myself into," she said in a panic through her animal language. "Curse your stupid brain, Xerxes!"
---------
Meanwhile, back in Storage, McLeach stood where he was for a moment, staring dumb-founded towards the door as he watched the raccoon get kicked away with the crystal, only to be followed by a thrown sorcerer and a duck with a gun...along with Joanna (which he was still sure was just following his orders since she hadn't done anything suspicious in his eyes).
His stare was only broken by Clayton's voice, hearing him talk to a...professor? He looked around and couldn't find another person besides Clayton in the room until he noticed that Clayton was looking down...towards a rat.
...and, after possibly exploding, stopping a fight with a sorcerer and a cartoon, and staring at the well-dressed rat for a hot minute after looking at a walking corpse, that's when he called it.
"...okay, I'm done for now," he began, walking away towards the crate of ammunition Negaduck promised him. "I've had a bit too much action for the moment," he continued, putting his gun into the crate and lifting it up. "I am going to my room," he went on, picking up the crate, "and I'll be there until further notice."
After he was done growling, he took his crate towards the Storage entrance. He only paused for a moment when he came up to the Horned King, who was still in the way.
"May I get by," he asked the lich, almost too tired to care about whatever response he was about to hear.

The Professor gained a small smile. "Oh, think nothing of it my friend. Actually, I was hoping you might be able to lend a hand. You remember the boy Varian? He's currently working on a device, that will benefit all of us. He just needs some metal parts, and as you might imagine that might be a bit difficult, for some one of my…current size. I don't suppose, you would be willing to lend me a hand, with some of the carrying?"

Mozenrath landed just behind Joanna, just softly enough to not break bones yet hard enough that he would end up with a few black-and-blue blemishes, and he made a swipe to grab her tail -
Missing by a hair.
"No," he seethed. "No, no, NO!"
His fists slammed into the floor. That raccoon had gotten away with his safety net! He wouldn't rest until he'd tracked the critter down to the corners of the castle!
...Though there was still his business with the Horned King. That, logically, should take precedence. However, he was really, REALLY driven to go get that crystal.
