Well, Xerxes had to come up with an excuse somehow - but he couldn't mention Joanna. He couldn't rat out Ruddiger, either! "Xerxes know!" he wailed. "Xerxes mess up! All because...all because..." Well, they knew about his bond with Mozenrath, didn't they? Maybe if he just diverted the blame a little bit, they wouldn't ask... "Because Mozenrath looking for way to escape!" Ratigan highly doubted that. From what he knew about Mozenrath, he doubted he would be one, to escape in a manner so…beneath him. Not to mention the grate, barley looked big enough to fit him. "Oh, and pray, what exactly was he "escaping" from?" "...Castle?" Xerxes said hastily. "Uhhh...Mozenrath not know where Dark Kingdom is. Hate that. Want go home! Know what world is on!" Oh, he was starting to hear how this might not have been the best thing to say. Yet it had been said.

"Now, I ain't no expert," he began, "but wouldn't this Mazel Tov guy not know what lies outside of this kingdom's walls? I mean, I know I was never told and, for all we know, there could be creatures that can eat us faster than you can blink or monsters immune to magic and stuff." Joanna just looked back from McLeach to Xerxes and back again during this whole conversation. "You've really put yourself in a bind, drongo," she muttered in her language.

Xerxes insisted, trying to help McLeach understand his meaning. He'd already dug the hole. Nowhere to go but down. "Not escape outside castle! Escape outside castle WORLD! Go back to familiar!"

Well, at least he had enough respect to admit it. Usually, Ratigan could care less about what they'd be up to, unless it benefited him, but after his near death experience, and recognizing that the eel was Mozenrath's, the professor couldn't help but ponder what this Xerxes' was trying to do. From the way he, and the lizard seemed to be friendly with each other, given how they seemed to have been talking earlier. Perhaps they had formed a partnership? But then, why would they need to blow up a grate? It was then, that Ratigan noticed Ruddiger, Varian's raccoon that Negaduck had mentioned capturing, now free from his cage. Could it be, that the other animals, were attempting to break him out, using the grate as an exit?

(OOC: I know I’m a week behind but again I apologize for keeping everyone waiting on for me.)
As Negaduck shouted everybody to leave the Storage due to the supposed incoming explosion thanks to Xerxes’ mischief. Negaduck was prepared for the explosion, destroying his hideout yet again, but a couple seconds passed by & there was nothing?
While the villains were engaged their convention, Negaduck checked back into the Storage, only mess was in the room was a big spill of gunpowder nearby the vent as well Varian's raccoon cage was placed by. He sweeps up the gunpowder while overhears the other villains convention & Xerxes mentioned Mozenrath planning on leaving the castle. That’s when it hits him; Mozenrath somehow knows about the Teleporter Negaduck was secretly working on and has his pet eel destroy his hideout. At least that’s how Negaduck hears it & if Mozenrath wants to make his move, Negaduck might have a few words for him.
The 4 hog/goblin goons Negaduck has send for installation a new door returned, reported back to Negaduck, unaware the current situation. “Umm Mr. Negaduck, we brought the door as you asked for.” The leading hog goon salute to Negaduck. "Excellent! Now you boys get this door installed while I'm gone. Make sense nobody enters this Storage without my noticeable." Negaduck gave orders towards the goons while Negaduck approach the hunters and other animals. "I think if this Mozenrath chump wents to leave us in the dust, perhaps we or rather I shall give him a farewell present." Negaduck asked anyone who wishes to accompany with him finding Mozenrath either clear-up the story/rumor or ready for a fight.

As Negaduck shouted everybody to leave the Storage due to the incoming explosion thanks to Xerxes’ explosion tactic. After the explosion happened, he sticks his neck back into the room where once again, it’s in complete ruin. Negaduck was speechless, everything he organized from the furniture to the barrels of gunpowder were destroyed. At least the boxes containing weapons and ammunition were secured somehow but still. He remained frozen in place but overhears the other villains convention & Xerxes mentioned Mozenrath planning on leaving the castle. There is a bit of a gunpowdery mess in front of the vent that everyone's in front of, but there was no explosion.]] ( (OOC: I just now changed my post & added extras.

Negaduck asked anyone who wishes to accompany with him finding Mozenrath either clear-up the story/rumor or ready for a fight. Well, it would seem their confrontation, was going to happen a bit sooner than expected. And with it, the possible end to their alliance. Ratigan carefully thought over his next move. He could try to reason with Negaduck, persuade him to leave Mozenrath be and reason that he was simply jumping to conclusions too quickly, or simply let the Mallard go on with his quest, which would potentially lead to a rather painful defeat. Should the two of them fight, Ratigan had little doubt Mozenrath would win the fight. As he continued to weigh his options, Ratigan thought over the options. If he told Negaduck the truth, it could potentially earn him some points and keep his cover for a while longer. So far, the Mallard didn't seem to suspect him of being linked with Mozenrath, so it could be possible that it would remain the case, after all was said and done. But if he let the poor duck continue to his spat with Mozenrath, he could also make himself more useful and endearing to the wizard and Varian, through his familiars. If his theory was correct, and they were trying to break Ruddiger out, he could be free to assist them, while Negaduck battled it out with Mozenrath. Not only would it prove his loyalty to their alliance, but maybe even convince them to put more focus on the size changing spell. And with that, Ratigan made his choice, and simply let Negaduck go about his business.

[OOC: Apologies for the delay! Yes, we're all good to go for a sorcerer duo entrance! Would you like the honors or should I?] [OOC: I'll take it - it only seems to be the fitting punchline!] "I couldn't help but feel my presence was wanted!" Mozenrath said slyly as he strode into the Storage, arms outstretched. "Now, what do we have - " Then his eyes locked on his target. All at once, his composure was gone. The collected sorcerer seemed to have been replaced by something utterly feral. It was nothing short of a growl: "NEGADUCK." And without even thinking to use magic, the impetuous Mozenrath lunged at the duck physically, attempting to pin him to the floor. "MOZENRATH!" Xerxes had attempted to greet. However, he simply went ignored, and when it seemed Mozenrath had eyes only for his prospective murder victim, he decided to back off. Wait...they'd just opened the door! And caused a distraction! This could be the great escape he needed! "This way!" He used his tail to wave Joanna and Ruddiger toward the open door.

And so the fight began. Ratigan stepped aside, intending to stay out of it for now, and purposely ignored the animals, as they made their escape. For now, it was best to wait and see, what would happen next.

Not even seconds had passed upon reaching the storage room before the Horned King watched Mozenrath practically fly through the air to reach the infamous mad duck that the others had such disdain for. The king remembered this room had become something of a den for the more rambunctious of the mortals, and would have liked to had avoid it altogether. But he had let Mozenrath take the reins on this tour of theirs, so there was little he could complain about, lest he appear foolish once more in front of the younger mage.
And that was something the lich would not repeat.
Before he could get invested in watch his compatriot roast the duck or even set his sights on the others in the room (mortals he did not recognize), his gaze fell upon three creatures making a mad dash towards the exit of the door. Two he knew: the eel that accompanied Mozenrath at his introduction, and the little raccoon that belonged to Varian. The third, some larger reptilian thing, was new to him.
Though, there was only one problem for the pets.
The Horned King was in the doorway. And he was not stepping aside for them.
