Xerxes shot up a couple feet higher into the air; his jaw dropped. "Wha - " And the lighter fell from his mouth, the flame still flickering as it descended. Joanna scurried as fast as she could towards the lighter. She didn't know if she could catch it, so she did the only other thing she could think of at the second... She head-butted the lighter through the grate...and then slipped on the gunpowder and ended up head-butting into the grate itself. She took a moment to steady herself. The hit in the head was a bit hard...but nothing she wasn't used to. She looked around, noticing that the fire was far away from the gunpowder she was...currently covered in. When she knew she was safe, she snapped her head at Xerxes with a sneer. "What...were you, THINKING?" she growled, staring him down. "You realize what fire does to gunpowder, right??" -------------------------- Meanwhile, outside the room, McLeach hid with the rest waiting for...something to happen? "...uh..." he wondered aloud, "was there supposed to be an explosion or something?"

Ratigan exclaimed, furious at the eels' obliviousness, not noticing that his hair, was coming undone, and his eyes were getting more bloodshot, by the second. "If she hadn't acted when she did, YOU WOULD HAVE KILLED US ALL YOU INGRATE! WHAT KIND OF IDIOTIC, DAFT CREATURE ARE YOU, TO HAVE BEEN BORN WITH SUCH LOW INTELLIGENCE?!!!"

They were busted, and he still didn't have a way out!

"Wait a minute…I've seen you before…are you, by any chance familiar with Mozenrath?" It was brief, and the two were never formally introduced, but during Mozenrath's brief stay at the courtyard, Ratigan could vaguely remember him, being followed by a floating eel, that looked remarkably similar to the one, in this room. Judging from their behavior together, they must've been partners of some sort. Though a bit of a one-sided one, with how the sorcerer treated him. (OOC: Hope Ratigan's previous explosion, didn't change too much. I just figured after so many near death experiences in a row, the little guy would be bait on edge, after a third one.)

Clayton was the first of the three people to enter back into the Storage upon hearing no explosion, he peeked towards the door and noticed Ratigan talking with... 'Oh no' He could recognize the eel...and if such eel was near, its master must likely be close...The last thing he needed to do was hear that brat´s mumbling about being the 'herald of greek gods' or something among that.

"Now everything's ruined because of you, ya drongo! Next time you find a possible exit to sneak us out, come back to me first so that I can inspect it and let you know what actually has to be done!" Meanwhile, McLeach followed Clayton into the room, placing the box of ammunition down to the side where no one could trip over it and pulled out his shotgun again. "What the hell's going on?" he grunted aloud, following the...rat over to the...floating eel. ...Sure. Why not? He was already in this room talking to a sentient super-villain duck. Why not add to the mix of madness? "What are we talking about with an escape plan?" he asked Xerxes, finger playing with the trigger of his shotgun. This made Joanna lose her harsh demeanor and grow worried. Because McLeach was back...and threatening someone...someone who actually understood her... ...which means he could rat her out of the subject. "Whatever you do," Joanna told Xerxes, "don't mention that I was involve. Blame the fat cat."

Did the lizard mean him? Ruddiger jumped angrily up and down and spoke in high pitch racoon noises as he pointed towards Negaduck and his cage trying to tell the others it was his fault!

McLeach raised an eyebrow at Clayton when he mentioned. "Herald of the Five, eh?" he questioned, looking back from Xerxes to Clayton. Well...he wasn't necessarily going to say that he was at a possibly similar position with Facilier...and he was very tempted to test that connection... ...but he'll play it smart this time. Maybe. "That doesn't excuse your bad behavior in trying to blow up your superiors," McLeach shot back at Xerxes, "Along with Joanna and the ra...ccoon...wait, where is it?" He slightly jumped when Ruddiger started squeeking and jumping behind him. While he wasn't sure of how it got out of its cage, he was at least relieved that he wouldn't have to tell a fellow villain that his pet died. "See?" McLeach continued, gesturing to Ruddiger as he scolded Xerxes. "Even the raccoon's angry at you!" He definitely misinterpreted what Ruddiger was trying to say.

Well, Xerxes had to come up with an excuse somehow - but he couldn't mention Joanna.
He couldn't rat out Ruddiger, either!
"Xerxes know!" he wailed. "Xerxes mess up! All because...all because..."
Well, they knew about his bond with Mozenrath, didn't they? Maybe if he just diverted the blame a little bit, they wouldn't ask...
"Because Mozenrath looking for way to escape!"

Clayton felt that the eel was hiding up something...Pheraps Mozenrath was trying to blow them up? No, if that person wanted to get rid of them, he would have waited for a mission to use them as 'dead meat' or use them as practice tests...But if what the eel said was true... "Why would to escape? He claimed a while ago to be directly working for the Five" Either the sorcerer had lied and Maleficent or the others found about it, or he did something to make them angry. Whichever was, Clayton found it amusing.

"Mozenrath?" he asked aloud, grumpily not sure of what to believe at the moment.

Ratigan highly doubted that. From what he knew about Mozenrath, he doubted he would be one, to escape in a manner so…beneath him. Not to mention the grate, barley looked big enough to fit him. "Oh, and pray, what exactly was he "escaping" from?"
