Davy's attention was immediately turned toward the frustrated sorcerer. "My apologies, I came as soon as I was able", Davy retorted. Taking another look around the damaged garden, Jones approached Mozenrath and the others. "What happened here?"
(OOC: Apologies for my lack of activity this past month, I was kept really busy with preparing for/taking exams as well as working on other projects. Sorry for any inconveniences I may have caused)

King Candy found out that the battle sounds came from the thorn gardens. But when he arrived, there was no battling going on. However, the gardens were badly damaged. King Candy decided to stick around for a while and hear out the other villains.

Ah... some familiar faces. This could be advantageous for them.
"Do not mind Mozenrath's disposition. He is... displeased with the actions of one of our compatriots. The one known as Negaduck has turned against us, stealing a powerful item and wrecked havoc upon our new base... as I'm sure you can see."
The lich motioned towards the destroyed remnants of the gardens.
"Your arrival is pleasing, though," the Horned King stated as he turned to face the captain and king. "Though weakened, the duck manages to be illusive. We believe he is still within the confines of the castle. Should you assist us in apprehending him, some... reward of some kind may come your way."
He hadn't particularly thought through what he could do to offer either Jones or Candy as repayment, but perhaps simply allowing them to maim a betrayer among them could satisfy them. Either way, more able bodies to finally end this absurd situation once and for all.

On the other hand, Candy didn't like that Mozenrath reacted like that instead of filling him and Davy Jones in on what happened. Fortunately, the Horned King did take his time to fill them in. He was thrilled that the lich was offering a reward for capturing this Negaduck guy. The thought of the reward, as well as the thought of fighting the traitor, filled him with excitement. "Even though I haven't met this Negaduck before, I'd be glad to help you!" he answered. |

In a group such as this, Davy had had a feeling that it would only be a matter of time before one of them turned on the others, and although he hadn't met Negaduck personally, given how Varian had described him it wasn't all that surprising that he had been the traitor. In any case, an opportunity to send a treacherous rat to his doom was more than welcome to him; he had begun to grow bored with wandering the castle. "Very well", he replied with a dark smile. "Should we find this 'Negaduck', I will be more than happy to run the mongrel through for you." |

Mozenrath nodded at Davy Jones (and only at Davy Jones). "Then let's go."
He turned to stalk away to the laboratory, his cape billowing behind him.
Xerxes tagged along loyally.

The boy fails to see the usefulness in pawns. This does not bode well for plans for the future... and promises of which I must keep.
Turning his gaze away for the others, the lich zero'd in on Candy, lowering his voice in case the others were still within earshot. "Ignore Mozenrath. He is simply upset the duck stole his favorite toy and is too embarrassed to admit it. I have a plan towards apprehending Negaduck where your skills could come to some use, if you wish to hear."

The Horned King pointed a finger towards the hole in the middle of the tattered remains of the gardens. "We believe that Negaduck escaped through this chasm he created. Though the location to where it leads is a mystery, it's clear that if one were to follow it, the path to the bird will become clearer." The lich stole a glance towards the direction from where the rest of the group had departed from. "The professor and Mozenrath's pet... thing were the only things that could follow such a crawlspace... until you arrived, Candy. There's a chance yet to catch Negaduck before he causes more wanton destruction and endanger us again. To catch him or kill him would certainly put you in the good graces in Maleficent and the others' eyes." A pause, before a short chuckle. "And perhaps show Mozenrath a thing or two about true villainy." |

There were a few problems: he didn't want to ruin his royal clothes, and his Cy-Bug form was too big. But then he remembered that he could transform into Turbo. "Before I go into that chasm, let me show you something." He then transformed into Turbo. Now he had a suit which he wouldn't mind making dirty. "This suit I wear now is useful for racing, digging, and going through holes. With this suit, I can safely enter that chasm and start the hunt for that Negaduck!" |
