(OOC: I'm pretty sure he's not. I've been planing to make him big at some point, and so far the plan is to have him, gain this through Mozenrath. But I've forgotten to follow up on it, so he's still rat size right now. Maybe, I can have Ratigan take a detour on his way to the storage, and reunite with Mozie, who can change his height?) (OOC: Huh, I could have sworn there was a post about him being being regular sized and I've been treating Ratigan as if he was human sized the whole time. Now I feel silly.) "Oh yes this will be very useful. Plus if...when we do get this teleporter up an running, I'm sure it'll be useful to teleport a few automatons ahead of us." Varian said as he imagine catching Corona completely off guard with his new and improved automaton army and teleporter. "Of course, since it is difficult for you to help, I think I might have something you might like." Varian said as he held the potion he used to make Ruddiger a giant. "This potion can make you bigger, only thing we need is something to stabilize the formula...you know, just to make sure you don't turn into a wild feral monster." Now that, had Ratigan excited! He been meaning to do something regarding his size. The professor had talked with Mozenrath, about a spell that would allow him to change between man size & human size, back at the Storage, but this could work for now. As long as Varian made sure, he didn't go crazy from it. "Oh, why thank you dear boy! That sounds simply marvelous," The Professor exclaimed with an excited grin and a thankful tone. "Though, if you don't mind my inquire, is it temporary? I would still like, to return to my regular size from time to time."

Having left the thorn gardens with Mozenrath in tow, the Horned King committed to locating a vacant chamber within the confines of the castle's interior. The cauldron did not especially need ample space to work its dark magics, but it was a matter of respect and glory to the evil crucible to be given a place worthy to call its own. Mozenrath and the lich had gone over several locations in the castle, but neither found any of them suitable for their plan, and thus explored the castle further.
It was clear that many rooms and areas of the castle were quickly being claimed by a number of the residents now dwelling within: the tallest tower was exclusive to the Five, the auditorium was Jones', the laboratory Varian's; Mozenrath even made mention to the larger man Sykes having a place to call his own. The Horned King grew increasingly more irritated at this notion - a king of his stature was roaming the halls like a peasant while the others, both those beneath and above him, were finding adequate living quarters so easily.
Oh, how he will indulge in their expressions of shock and awe when he finally found that perfect location and use the power of the Black Cauldron in front of them. That ought to put things in perspective.
Lost in his reverie, the Horned King found he and his sorcerer companion outside the door of what he recalled as the Archive. He had not thought of it before, but perhaps there was a map or atlas of some kind within the athenaeum that could divulge an area of the castle perfect for the cauldron's resting spot. Additionally, should the king and his hired help encounter any interlopers during their quest, or if Mozenrath elected a powerful (or... not so powerful) enemy from his own realm to be used to fuel the cauldron, then it might be best to brush up on a few spells. The incantation to raise the Cauldron Born did not need remembering, but there is no greater pleasure than ending one's foes by one's own hand - whether through sudden incarceration or cutting them down with enchanted steel.
The lich turned to his companion, holding a gnarled hand out. "If I may... request a small detour, Mozenrath. I believe the archive may hold a key that could aid in our search."

A small vial can last an hour or two, while a big dose can last up until twelve hours. Though I suppose makeing a counter agent to reverse the effects is possible too. I'd need a bit time to work on that though."

It would make for a good substitute, until he found a more controllable one. "Now, you said you need something to stabilize the transformation? What would that be?"

The size potions was originally just supposed to help give me a rampaging beast to help keep the king and his guards busy. So I didn't need to worry about designing a away to keep the subject's intelligence before. I'd need something with more calming properties to reduce the rage created by the sudden growth." Varian pondered as he tried to think of anything that would fit the bill. Though there didn't seem to be a scientific solution to this problem...but just maybe the others had a solution. While Varian didn't want to say magic would solve the problem, but maybe Mozenrath or Maleficent might have something with the calming properties he and Ratigan needed.

In particular, there was Mozenrath, who had all ready offered him a way, to change sizes. Perhaps he and Varian could work together to find a solution to it. (OOC: Also on a side note, should we wait for the Horned King & potentially Mozenrath to enter the room, before we start addressing them? Just making sure.)

The doors burst open, and the man of the hour strolled through.
"Something tells me my presence was wanted here," Mozenrath said cockily.

Speak of the Devil, and he doth appear indeed. "Aaaah, Mozenrath my friend," Ratigan quickly greeted, with a merry tone, "how wonderful to see you again. I had hoped, to catch with you sooner or later."

...ah. How foolish of the king to have forgotten whom he was with.
The Horned King took back his hand, taking care no to belittle himself by grumbling, and stalked into the archive behind Mozenrath, whom had already sauntered in with an excess amount of... excess.
However, given the company that has all but infested the castle up to this point, perhaps excess was the norm - the Horned King may be the odd villain out.
It mattered little in the grand scheme of things. As he closed the door behind the two of them, it was then the lich realized there were others in the archive: young Varian, and the rodent Ratigan.
A curious pair... The Horned King thought. Though... the same could be said about the king and Mozenrath.

While Ratigan was more than happy, to greet the young, if annoying sorcerer, he was…rather put off by the king. Even amongst the odd members of this group, the Horned King, for the brief time he was with him…Ratigan wouldn't admit he scared him…but he was certainly chilling. With his skeletal appearance and grassy voice, there was simply something…unearthly with him, that he didn't see amongst his fellow villains. Still, he hid his emotions well and turned to greet the stranger: "Oh, and a very pleasant greeting to you as well, good sir. We haven't had the time to be properly introduced. Professor Ratigan, at your service."

He was still unsure if the rodent was as brilliant as he was claimed to be, but even the most unsuspecting of creatures had some use - even the pig Hen Wen was able to see the Black Cauldron in its visions, so who's to say this Ratigan wasn't an accomplished criminal mastermind? He was brought here, after all. "Young Varian here has vouched for your intelligence and tenacity, professor. I am pleased to see one such as yourself lays uninhibited and ambitious despite your size," the lich responded. "Most call me sire or your highness, but you, my furry friend, may address me as the Horned King."

Varian gave a small chuckle which died quickly as he realized someone like the horned King didn't have a sense of humor. "*ahem* I actually do have a formula that can make animals grow to larger sizes. With some of my formula, Ratigan can be as tall as a human. Only issue at the moment is that increased height and muscle growth also increases aggression. Meaning Ratigan would likely become a wild feral animal that will attack almost anyone in sight. So once I find an ingredient to reduce anger, Ratigan can really demonstrate his skills as a master criminal."

"...You know," Mozenrath recalled, "I'd been toying with that exact concept. I think I know of a few tricks that would level out his bestial instincts...in fact, a few interesting cases come to mind. The fabled lost city of animals...perhaps there was truth to the legend. Or the shamanistic staff that allowed control over the mole-men - or maybe that was just the shaman's silver tongue and hair-trigger temper working on an already susceptible demographic. But what intrigues me MOST is the curse of the jackal-beast. Some poor young damsel in distress was cursed to become a feral jackal in the light of the moon, a curse only to be broken by the kiss of true love, et cetera, et cetera. Maybe the moonlight is the key. If I could find a way to channel it over whatever concoction you're making, filter it through a crystal that would amplify and distill its magic...we might be able to reverse-engineer the jackal. Instead of giving a sentient person animal instincts, we remove the beast from within the professor and keep him a scholar among rodents."
