Still, since no one seemed to be interested in striking a conversation, he had little reason to be here. Maybe it was time to move on, with the task he had agreed with Varian. He was still lacking in height, but he was sure he could manage, with the right help in mind. "Well, this has been fun, but I believe it's time for me, to take my leave. Unless, anyone else would like to strike a conversation?" Mozenrath waved him off casually. "I got what I needed from you. You're free to go." "Well, it has allowed me to dream big, getting several schemes and allowing me to subjugate my Friends." he explained as he smiled as he twirled his cane in his hand. "Right now, my new friend and me have been plotting a good little revenge scheme. Just a bit of teaching him to run a kingdom." He then leaned in toward Facilier with genuine interest; "Oh? Do tell."

"Right now, my new friend and me have been plotting a good little revenge scheme. Just a bit of teaching him to run a kingdom." He then leaned in toward Facilier with genuine interest; "Oh? Do tell." "Well..." Dr Facilier began as he wondered how much did he need to drop. If Mozenrath was well aware of his status and story then he probably knew already enough on his ignomous defeat at the hands of Tiana. She was still number one on his payback list but he needed to make sure that it was a complete payback. Closing a single restaurant was seen as small fries with these people. You had to dream big. "I think you might be familiar with the country of Maldonia? Not really big, nothing special but I got a bit of history with it." he kept it like that to make sure those who didn't know better would also not get to find out more about him too. Information was as much currency as gold here. "The royals aren't in the strongest position and with my well, cosmic level of magic currently I think its time for a change of leadership. Problem is, I don't much care for leadership, Ruling a country would be too much hassle." he fully admitted now. True, he wouldn't hate ruling the cosmos but it would be much more beneficial for him to put people in charge for his own gain. He was the shadowman after all. Standing on the front wasn't his thing. "And that's where he comes in." Facilier explained pointing at Scar as he smiled and moved to stand next to the lion turned man. "Well, he still needs a bit to learn so that's why we got here. Once he's steamed ready we can move with the plan." he told Mozenrath as he smiled again at him, letting the man in on the plan. It could go horrible but if Mozenrath wanted to take a kingdom himself, he was more than happy to give him some assistance.

Scar listened in the plan as he mentally grinned as it was quite the win win due to him wanting to rule a Kingdom, but kept quiet figuring that many people already noticed by staring at their facial expressions.
That being said, Scar mentally prayed that Mozenrath of all people would not figure out the truth while he would keep reading.

Post by The Horned King on Nov 18, 2019 19:36:17 GMT
The Horned King cared little for the exploits of Facilier and his scarred henchman, only listening in on the conversation because they were all still in the area. The lich had thought Mozenrath determined to foresee the plans for the Black Cauldron get underway, but clearly his mind was elsewhere - a tall, gangly, bothersome (and unfortunately more powerful) elsewhere. The king would not wait to be casually dismissed like some kind of porter or errand boy as the young sorcerer had done to Ratigan, and stalked back through the archive, giving the scarred ruffian reading a book a passing glance. He didn't look like the type to enjoy literature, but given his status as Facilier's pawn, it didn't really matter in the long run. Returning to the place where he had been right before Varian's chemicals detonated, the Horned King sneered, finding the tomes he had dropped upon being taken by Mozenrath to be nothing more than ash. Comical though it may be that spell books that were meant to teach the reader flame magic and other corrupting hexes were now nothing more that dust, the lich was not laughing. "Boorish, unruly children.." the king grumbled, his eyes scanning the shelves for suitable replacements, finding none that could appease the angered sorcerer... ...but something else caught the lich's eye. In the far back of the archive, there was a familiar looking bald head and crown reading something... As Scar was having a conversation with Mozenrath, King Candy continued his search for a map. After half an hour of searching, he finally found one in the back of the library. He took it and studied it. It looked like a map of this castle. (OOC: Are the rooms documented on this map? Or do the villains have to make notes themselves?) Silently looming over King Candy, the Horned King peered over the miniature monarch, finding something rather useful: a map, seemingly of the entire castle estate. Even from his spot overlooking Candy, the king could make out areas on the parchment - the courtyard, the gardens, the archive. As well as a number of rooms he did not recognize. Ones that appeared vacant and left unclaimed. Ones that were as good as the king's. The horrible sneer on the lich's face turned into a horrible smile. "Finally," the king breathed, suddenly revealing himself to Candy. "Something useful around here." [OOC: I think you can use your own discretion here. If you want Candy to just know where the areas are and make the necessary threads for them, take the map for yourself and explore, or have notes written down or remembered, I think that's all on how you want to run with it. I know the Horned King would remember where he'd be going next since he's walked around the castle a couple times already - or just snatch up the map from Candy.]

Maybe there's more of these around there?" Then he remembered that even though he had met the Horned King before, he didn't know his name. Maybe he didn't remember it. "Also, what's your name again?"

The taxes are yours, the castle is yours, the manual labor is yours..." He shrugged. "Well, I suppose to each their own. After all, if you and I ever allied, well, it just wouldn't do to have us fighting over the crown, now, would it? But that wouldn't leave you high and dry. Remember how much Jafar was able to pull the strings as a Grand Vizier." Now to the burning question: "Who is your little government-puppet, anyway? Besides a man of few words."

"Now." Mozenrath tapped his lower lip as he pondered. "I still have some locator left over from the Pain and Panic chase. I could use that to go after Negaduck at any time. However, the Horned King and I are still...on a tour of the castle." He fired a knowing look toward Varian. Ratigan wouldn't know, but Varian should have some idea of what was going on, since the Horned King had mentioned his name earlier. Maybe Varian would catch the hint and give them some direction as to a place to store the Cauldron, or a place to learn more about it... "Enjoy your little tour. I'll be in the lab, working on another project to help with security. Knock if you two need me." Varian said as he picked up on Mozenrath's clue and hoped the both of them might store it in his lab. His lab was not only spacious, but it would give Varian a chance to study this cauldron up close and personally. Though Varian wasn't sure if his suggestion was heard as suddenly a few new comers arrived and distracted him and the others. Varian listened to them as they intorduced themselves but became silent as he noticed something very unusual. He noticed Dr. Facilier's shadow was not only taller than most of their shadows, but he could swear he saw it moved. Though not because Facilier moved, it seemed to move on it's own accord. As the others chit chatted with each other, Varian moved past the others for a closer look to see if it truly was moving on it's own or if it was a trick of the light. He studied the shadow in silence, waiting to see if it would move again and losing all focus on the others.
(OOC: Hopefully this will help explain why Varian hasn't interacted with the others much.)

"See, I knew you would get it. Why spend your entire life living it up trying to protect something like that whilst you can just sit back and reap rewards behind someone's back?" he asked Mozenrath as he smiled now widely. He finally knew the boy got it and that he was just in for his own gain. A crown didn't interest him but rather what riches were to be reaped around the crown. "Besides, if you need help for a little conquer spree I'm willing to give my services... for a fee of course but we can get to those terms eventually." he continued as he knew that he would be eventually enlisted for something to be conquered. These people all had mostly the same mind and the same mindset. Not that it mattered to the good doctor, he enjoyed lending services to those in need. "Oh and between you and me, governing something means you need to press the little guy extra hard... and we all know about the little guy eh?" he asked his grin being more malicious this time as it held more meaning than anything. Coming from lower backgrounds they had clawed their way up and to keep it meant pressing others into servitude and possibly getting the knife in your back too. "As for my esteemed conspirator... I'm surprised he hasn't introduced himself, he was rather boisterous before." he told Mozenrath as he gestured to Scar to give the boy a true introduction.

The shadow just mostly kept mimicking Facilier's movements till he kept talking to Mozenrath and this funny little scientist started to study him. It first moved along with the doctor before turning to Varian and smirked seeing he was fun to play with till he quickly moved to fall back in line behind the doctor.

Soon Scar closed his book and soon turned to the Doctor and Mozenrath.
"I havent had the urge to introduce myself due to how we met prior." Scar told the duo as that would be a big hint of who he was for the wizard.
"For you, however, you can call me Scar." The man soon confessed as practically everyone wouldve figured it out eventually.

Varian said as he looked at the shadow trying to figure out how it could possibly be alive. Though he was distracted a bit by Mozenrath shouting in shock about something. Apparently he had met the man with the Scar earlier but now the man had changed drastically. He would have to ask about that, though his attention was still more drawn to the shadow. As he studied it, he wondered something. What would happen if his own shadow touched Facilier's. Varian raise his arm move his own shadow towards the doctor's to see what would happen if the shadows collide. Would it act like an ordinary shadow or react to his own?

"Well well, what have we here?" Davy Jones mused to himself as he walked up to the doorway he had heard the voices emanating from. Strolling inside, Jones looked around the room. There was a considerable gathering of people, most of whom he remembered from his vision. Among them, he spotted Mozenrath and the Horned King, but they were currently engaged in conversations with others, and Jones thought it best not to interrupt them for the moment. Further inspecting the room, Davy saw that it was lined with books and scrolls. His curiosity piqued, Jones decided that this room would be as good a place as any to explore for now.
Walking over to a shelf near where Mozenrath and his companions were conversing, Jones began flipping through a random volume, hoping to find something in its pages that might be of some use to him.

King Candy suddenly heard the Horned King's voice. He turned around and saw that it really was the Horned King. "Oh, hi there, you mean this?" He then showed the Horned King the map he found. "I found this in the back of this room. Maybe there's more of these around there?" Then he remembered that even though he had met the Horned King before, he didn't know his name. Maybe he didn't remember it. "Also, what's your name again?" The Horned King narrowed his eyes at the map. He could just swipe the parchment from the king of treats, though it would be a nuisance for him to become his other form and wreak even more havoc within the archive. The study had already seen enough destruction and commotion as it was. Still peering at the map, the king answered Candy's question. "Most call me your highness, but as a fellow... monarch, I will give your the due courtesy of addressing me as the Horned King." The words left a strange, unnatural taste in the king's mouth, even if he hadn't paid much attention when saying them. However, Candy was still a worthwhile pawn to keep by him. Perhaps the few words traded among the two would earn him, at the very least, a monstrous fighter every so often if the king decided to branch out further into the universe - once the cauldron was back under his command, of course. "You said there were other maps in the back, yes?" The lich didn't really give Candy much of a chance to respond, already beginning to stalk to the back of the room, his hunt for his own useful diagram of the castle ever closer to hopefully finishing so he may leave the increasingly crowded and noisy librarium.
