McLeach also was quick to recognize the man and took note of his tone. "Oh hey," he chuckled, letting himself in without closing the door. "Pleasure to see you again, Professor Fa-Cylinder or...whatever it was."
He look around the place. "Pardon me for forgettin'," he continued, taking it all in. "Being thrusted into a world where real magic, gods, and monsters exist hasn't been all that kind to my noggin."
He tapped his head as he did that, finally looking back at Facilier with a sly, devilish smirk. "Little overwhelmin'. I hope you can understand."

Facilier closed his eyes letting the wrong pronunciation of his name slip as he just smiled again.
He needed to remain calm, win some trust and play the long game for now. Though he didn't believe McLeach would be that helpful but an extra man on their paylist wasn't a bad idea.
"I reckon. I was taken quite aback myself seeing I was the only well... Commoner of the five that night."
He spat the word commoner out with a bit of hate seeing he didn't deserve that kind of treatment. And he was sure as hell going to be earning their loyalty here.
"Though I do know my own brand of magic, I usually attend to the matters of others... For payment of course."

((Not gonna lie: I've been waiting to call him that for a while ;P ))
McLeach grew intrigued at his words, rubbing his chin as he heard the word 'Commoner' with a bit of interest. "Commoner, huh?" he chuckled. "Sounds like you have a problem with higher-ups."
He proceeded to lean on a nearby chair, taking another look around. "But, hey: at least you're now in a place where you can call the shots, right? And you had that shadow I saw you with at your command. So it's not like you haven't gotten your own sweet deal out of it all."
To be frank, he was mainly looking for the shadow to see if it was around.

"You have no idea friend."
He told him as he gritted his teeth and clenched his cane tighter as he narrowed his eyes as the memories came flooding back.
"You have no idea how bad it is to be given nothing but the sideways glance from fat cats who didn't need to work a single day in their life..."
He still glared as his shadow came flying by now as it began to rub the back of the doctor as he relaxed now.
"But yes, calling the shots is new and I still need to get used to it but so far... I'm enjoying it."

McLeach watched, somehow still a bit surprised at Facilier's shadow, as it appeared again. "...Well, I'll admit," he began, trying to stay on the subject of the elite, "I was never one to care about those squares anyway. Too many rules made in those kinds of societies."
He pulled out a knife and began to twirl it with his fingers. "Me, I went out on my own at an early age," he began. "Created a life for myself in the wonderfully wild world of the outback. Learned everything I could to make sure I could support myself and keep out of sight from the law. Got my money by hunting creatures...and selling them and their skins on the black market."
He stopped twirling his knife for a moment to sit down in the chair he was leaning on. "Ho, boy, it was somethin'," he chuckled before his own smile turned into disappointment, "until I lost my chance at my biggest payday."
His wandering eyes, just for a moment, caught sight of a doll on the shelf behind Facilier. Couldn't help but notice how similar it looked to the candy guy he met. That got him wondering...
"Now, what's this thing about the magic you say you have?" He continued, looking back at Facilier as if he saw nothing. "How does it work exactly?"

Facilier was both impressed and also a bit loathsome of McLeach. He reminded him slightly of Tiana with the strucking out early and the working hard crap that she seemed to fuel herself with. Even so, he did have to give him credit that he truly wanted to bloody his own hands. In a way they weren't that different.
As well that he seemed not to be too taken in with the elite just as well seemed to please him. A likewise mind was always a joy to find.
"Hm, my magic?" he asked suddenly not sure what brought this up but also not seemingly that scared to reveal some tricks to the man as he smiled leaning on his cane and produced one more of his cards which he handed to McLeach.
"I practicion a bit of everything. Voodoo, Bokor, witchcraft, dark arts, things no one wants to try..." he trailed off as he smirked before his shadow loomed behind McLeach with a smile on his face as if to push the hunter to take a seat himself at the table.
"But mostly I just use my magic for others... seeing as that is the two way street. I get the magic, but can only use it on others. A bit shameful since if I did have magic myself I be swimming in money. Oh and before you think why don't you use your powers of One of the Five for that, that's not what I intend to do with those powers."

[[To be fair, Facilier did bring up earlier in this conversation that he did deal with his own brand of magic]]
McLeach put his knife away for a moment and tentatively took the card, not looking at it just yet...well, he also didn't have time to.
"What the-"
He felt something push him around to the table. He looked behind him to see...well, no one. Once he was sitting down, he gave another glance around only to see Facilier's shadow for a moment before he lost track of it.
As he listened to Facilier's words, he gently got more relaxed at the table, still looking around just in case the shadow did anything else. He still had the card in his hand, still unaware of what was on it.
"...I guess that makes some sense," he remarked at Facilier's comment on the power of the Five. "I'm guessin' you have personal revenge business to take care of like the rest of us. Then you'd treat yourself to fortunes and glory."

"I got need for revenge but that can wait."
He told him right away as he smiled seating now across of him as he only sat on his chair as his shadow shove him to the table as he smiled at McLeach and just wagged his finger at him.
"First of I need to see who is trustworthy. After all, with the amount of people already running around this castle alone I need to make extra sure not one of them is going to backstab us." he told him as he still smiled and then took out his deck of cards shuffling it in front of McLeach.
"I'm not accusing you, I'm just taking my precautions as they call it." he told him with a smile and then leaned a bit forward to McLeach as he still smiled.
"Between us, I think you and I are more alike than either might want to admit. Both striking out young, trying to make it but having those fatcats push us down... You found your way, I found mine now." he told him as he smiled to let McLeach know he seemed to find him more trustworthy than some others.

Still holding the card, McLeach nodded in understanding. "I guess that's fair," he started. "I mean, if this place really is full of all different levels of scum and villainy, I'd be willin' to wager that some of the folks here have already started makin' their own groups."
McLeach did also appreciate being in the same room with another outcast. Sometimes you gotta do anything to survive, right? Not to mention Facilier had a certain style to his work that pleased McLeach.
He watched Facilier shuffle for a bit before speaking up. "So, what's the, uh...deal with the card you gave me?" he asked, smiling smugly at his own card pun as he finally took a decent look at the card in his hand. He quickly looked back at Facilier. "Are you already doing a magic trick on me? 'Cause I could have sworn that you said before that yer brand of magic came with some sort of...well, payment."

"Oh no, no, no..." He quickly set about assuring the man as he smiled as he simply wagged his finger at him before spreading the deck of tarrot cards out on the table as he smiled.
"The card lists what I got in store here. Potions, dolls, dreams made real, the whole... well deal."
He added the last part as a bit of his side of the joke as he smiled before folding the cards back into one pile as he held them out for him with a grin seeming to goad the hunter to push his luck with the shadow man. It wasn't that he needed any real payment from him but if he could get something nice out of it...
"If you want to pay, it can be something small as well. Much like a promise to scratch my back later or something should I find myself in a pickle... or when the time comes to move out that I can rely on your aid." he simply added on that seeing that would be fair. He could always trick him later but it seemed that he was genuine in helping at least McLeach. The lower class just needed to look out for one another.

McLeach looked at the deck in front of him. He twirled the card in his hand as he thought...which brought a smirk to his face. "And what kind of aid would you require?" he asked, leaning in closer with curiosity. "Keeping an eye out on certain characters? Hunting particular prey?"

"I might need a hunter to eventually catch me either some frogs or shoot down a gator... which one comes first I might not know yet." he told McLeach with a smirk as he took one of the cards and twirled it in his fingers and grinned himself.
"Oh and the frogs aren't real frogs by the by... I can explain in due time but for now, it's something you might rather not know."

While hunting down a gator sounded easy enough (I mean, how different could it be from hunting a croc?), McLeach almost felt insulted when he heard about having to catch some frogs. You could even see it in his face for a moment. But he calmed down a bit when Facilier warned him about the frogs not being real frogs.
"Let me guess," McLeach wondered, putting his hand with the card down on the table. "They're magic frogs."

He wouldn't let McLeach on what they were right away but he had no qualms in killing either Naveen or Tiana this time around. If they had just stayed put he would have let them happily hop around the swamp with neither a worry nor care but now... now they were going to end up in a fancy restaurant served as Frog Legs. "In due time I will tell you more about it. That is when Maleficent is ready to move our plan to the next stage." he simply remarked as he now smiled putting a card face down before turning it around revealing two frogs in a cage by now as he smirked. "It is just a possible future I'm interested in chasing in due time."

"It is just a possible future I'm interested in chasing in due time." Taking one last look at the calling card in his hand, McLeach finally pocketed it into his coat's inside pocket and sat back in his chair, holding his hands together. "I'll take your word on it, then," he decided, being serious for a moment. "I'll admit that, with most jobs I get, I usually expect a payment of some sort. Poachin' is still a business, you know, and it's important to have money so I can afford the bare necessities of life. But, now that I'm here, a decent chunk of what I would usually need money for is being provided freely by the hosts of this castle. It's interesting to already have practically everything I need. And, if I were dumber, I'd already call my retirement here." He leaned forward onto the table, looking Facilier in the eyes. "But I ain't a fool," he continued. "I know that being lazy in a base full of powerful beings is going to get me killed...and I'm willing to pull my own weight. And it certainly wouldn't hurt to have a higher-up I can actually trust for once to help me out as much as I will be helping them just in case plans go astray. So consider yourself a deal: I'll help you out, within reason, with anything I can do...in exchange for some sort of security from the others just in case things happen." And then, probably to Facilier's delight, McLeach extended his hand out for a handshake. "Sound fair?"
