Maleficent's Story:
Maleficent is a dark fairy of the Unseelie Court and, as such, she was raised to value darkness and evil above all else. She is the most powerful of Unseelie fairies, and she gained notoriety far and wide for her ruthlessness and strength. She conquered the Forbidden Mountains, taking control of the clans of goblins that inhabited the mountains, and eventually she became known as the Mistress of All Evil, commanding all the forces of darkness.
When King Stefan neglected to invite Maleficent to the Christening of Princess Aurora, she took that disrespect as an act of war and placed a curse upon Princess Aurora. Aurora would prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die before her sixteenth birthday. Though the good fairy Merryweather softened the curse to only put Aurora under a deep sleep, the curse remained.
After years of fruitless searching, Maleficent eventually found Aurora and completed the curse. To prevent Aurora from waking, Maleficent kidnapped Aurora's true love Prince Phillip, intending to imprison him for a hundred years. However, with the help of the good fairies, Phillip escaped, and following an intense battle with Maleficent in the form of a dragon, he slew her.
Maleficent, however, managed to survive her encounter with Prince Phillip and escape back to the Forbidden Mountains to lick her wounds. The immensely powerful magic of True Love kept Maleficent at bay, and she began to seek out other avenues of power. During her search, Maleficent discovered the Prophecy of Five, a powerful foretold prophecy that five villains would come together at the same spot when the five planets aligned in ordered to be granted power enough to rule the universe. Together with Hades, Jafar, the Evil Queen, and Doctor Facilier, Maleficent was granted the immense powers the planetary alignment provided, strengthening her magic beyond all others, save her five allies.
Now Maleficent has used her immense powers to create the Dark Kingdom and allow other villains of darkness to cross the realms to join forces and finally take control of the universe!
