"Pretty much, I assume some moralistic idiot meddled into your plans as well?" Claytona asked "You could say that," McLeach grunted, his face turning grumpy at the thought. "Some nature enthusiast who could communicate with animals." He decided to leave out the part that he was beaten by a kid and some mice. While before he saw McLeach as a possible threat, now he could relate to him, after all he also fought against a similar foe than the one McLeach described "Both you and me...The man I fought was raised among apes, but for some reason he could communicate even with elephants. I won´t question the logic at this point, all I know is that I want his head" Clayton remarked.

Wait a minute, was this the first living entity Xerxes had conversed with besides Mozenrath and Destane? Perhaps even...a friend? "Xerxes made of magic," he explained. "Made by Mozenrath! Mozenrath very powerful sorcerer. Best in Seven Deserts! ...Besides Jafar. Xerxes forgotten about a lot, but also only thing Mozenrath can count on. Saved from black sand - no, wait, didn't work. Ended up in sand anyway. Am Mozenrath's only friend. He tells secrets, like - uh-uh! Not repeating! Is secret!" He gestured with his tail toward Ruddiger. "He familiar too?" Joanna quickly looked at Ruddiger as well. "I think this chunky thing's more like a pet, like me," she mentioned. "Familiar sounds more like a magic thing. I was born like this and grew up like this. And, since I can't understand it and it can't understand me, I'm going to guess they're just like me in that sense." "Hmmm." Xerxes gave Ruddiger a good once-over. "You talk?" He wasn't sure whether or not to expect an answer.

It had been a bit of a walk, to the Storage, but Ratigan eventually made his way inside. After, having gotten Varian onboard with the Teleporter, he just needed to give him some metal and chemicals, in order to speed up the progress on his other plans. Even though, he had pretty much thrown Negaduck under the bus, by reveal he had the Crystal of Ix, the professor decided to still pretend to work the the avian for the time being. Both so that he wouldn't come off as suspicious and to get a leg up on any plans he might come up with. Some he might use himself or expose to the other for favor
When he arrived though, he had not expected the Storage to be so…full. There were some familiar faces like Negaduck, Clayton, and even Varian's pet raccoon was there. Less familiar though, was the other hunter and the very long lizard. And that…floating eel creature (OOC: I don't know if Ratigan ever saw Xerxes. I'm going to assume he hasn't for now). Judging from how they were talking to each other, they seemed to have been talking for a while. Still, this could be useful. With his "partners" all ready there, relocating Varian's needs would be much simpler. With this thought in mind, the Professor stepped inside of the Storage, doing his best to avoid the lizards attention.

Not to bother McLeach & Clayton's current convention; Negaduck stepped out of the Storage for a minute, walking into the hallway where he sees 4 goons, obviously belongs from Maleficent, on guard duty. Well 2 fell asleep, while the other 2 are still aware, just bored. "Excellent! I'll put these buffoons to some actual work!" Negaduck walks right towards the goons, which all 4 goons gave him the salate and ready for any tasks those given by Maleficent's new allies.
"Yes sir Mister *snort* Negaduck?" The short hog guardsman greeted Negaduck while the other 3 nods up & down. "You all see the Storage room with a empty doorway? i want you idiots go find me another sizeable door and install immediately." Negaduck gave all 4 goons order and they wander off finding another door for him.

Deciding not to waste such a convenient opportunity, Ratigan decided to approach the mallard with the news regarding Varian: "Aww Negaduck, I've been meaning to catch up with you. I've talked to the young alchemist, and he seems very enthusiastic about our teleporter. I made sure to leave out your name of course. Though, he's currently occupied at the moment, he did seem interested in building it."

He wasn't sure whether or not to expect an answer. Ruddiger was silent for most of the exchange between the lizard and the flying creature, as he was too frightened to say anything. Still, once the flying creature looked towards him, it answered in the usual racoon noises with a simple yes.
(OOC: I think I'm going to keep Ruddiger speak in usual animal noises just cause I tend to prefer silent animal sidekicks, plus I'm not quite sure what speech patern/mannerism to give Ruddiger.)

"...eh, I think the ankle biter's a mute," Joanna shrugged, looking at Ruddiger before turning back to Xerxes. "Anyways," she sighed, changing the subject, "What have you been doing since you got here? Anything fun to do? Any good game to hunt that I'm allowed to feast on?" "You could say that," McLeach grunted, his face turning grumpy at the thought. "Some nature enthusiast who could communicate with animals." "Well, I'm sure you'll get your chance," he said with a hint of sarcasm, patting Clayton's shoulder before resting his hand on the back of him. "You're in an enchanted castle with the best of the worst scum and villainy, after all. I'm sure we can take care of them for you."

"Trying to find Mozenrath. Not sure where he went. Didn't see any board games." Why would you want to eat those, anyway? "Um...there's library archive," he mused. "And alchemy lab in basement. Lots of things go boom! And office, but that's boring. That's all places Xerxes went. Maybe is more if we look around!" He turned back to Ruddiger. "Maybe should help? Could have fun with us, too! Even if doesn't talk."[/quote]

He nodded though and made a few noises to indicate he did want to go with them. Though truth be told, it wasn't because he trusted them, but he knew he had to get away from that crazy Negaduck.

Joanna was pretty unimpressed at Xerxes pleading eyes...but she looked from Xerxes to Ruddiger to Xerxes again. And then to McLeach. To be frank, she couldn't see where he was now, but she could hear his voice as well as the voice of someone new. She couldn't sense the duck, but could hear him outside the door talking to someone. She thought for a moment and gruffly sighed. "If we do this," she began, looking back at the two, "We need to make sure that we don't get caught." McLeach chuckled at his comment. "But, until then, it never hurts to get yourself a team." McLeach looked around the shelves before getting an idea. "Say," he asked aloud, "you wouldn't happen to have some connections in your time, would you?"

But...you sneaky? Maybe Xerxes be quiet and you tell what to do!"

"There is a brother of mine in America who said he wanted to start a 'new life' as he put it, while we are not in speaking terms, he knows he owes me a favor..." Clayton said, he would mention as well his sister, but considering most of people here were crooks, and despite getting along with McLeach, mentioning he cared about someone was something they could use against him. Though something McLeach said ringed on to him...a team.
"Though now that you mention it...There is a group of poachers I formerly hired, most of them are either dead or in jail...But pulling some moves I could find a way to bail them out..."

Though something McLeach said ringed on to him...a team.
"Though now that you mention it...There is a group of poachers I formerly hired, most of them are either dead or in jail...But pulling some moves I could find a way to bail them out..." "Well," McLeach continued, putting his shotgun down, "getting them out wouldn't be hard with all the teleportin' magic that got us here. And, admittedly, the only connections I have are black market. Wasn't keen on being in a group where I came from but, with how things are going now...well, we're already in a team, so why not go all out?" McLeach looked around real fast before taking a step back towards Clayton quietly. "Look," he whispered, gesturing with his hand a bit as he spoke "from the sounds of it, both of us are in waaay over our heads being surrounded by people with magic and all that. If things go south, we'll need a crew we can trust to help us get out of it." He then leaned back a bit. "Buuut..." he continued, less quietly, "assuming we get to live the lives we want, we could have ourselves a little huntin' party as we go to all of these new worlds that the other villains came from and beyond, hunting down the rarest and most dangerous creatures known to life! Imagine all the adventures we'll be going on anways...and think of the paydays we'd be gettin'." Now, admittedly, McLeach wasn't usually one to work with others. Joanna was the only comrade he ever had for most of his life. But, under the circumstances, he was serious about forming a team or partnership with Clayton. Having someone who completely understood him would be a big help in dealing with the strangeness that is magic. But...you sneaky? Maybe Xerxes be quiet and you tell what to do!" "Well," Joanna muttered, "I'm usually the one to help get creatures into cages, but..." Joanna looked back again towards McLeach. Whatever was going on, he was fully invested in the conversation he was having with whoever was over there. It had been a while since she had messed around with him...and she figured that this would be the least of his worried in the long run. She turned back to the two, finally getting on her feet. "Just be prepared to scurry out of here when we have a chance," she whispered. With her hook-like claws, she gently began playing with the nails being used to keep the cage's door closed. Making traps was a specialty of McLeach and she learned what she could about them, so getting them to fall apart shouldn't be as hard, right? As she fidgeted with the nail, she turned to Xerxes fast for a second. "Can you quickly find any exit we could all go through that isn't the front door?" she silently requested. "Once I have this door open, we'll need an escape route that isn't blocked by others."
