"Hmmmm...Well, I think you might want to start with Mozzenrath. He seems knowledgeable about magic, so he might be able to help find this Black Cauldron of yours. Though it might be a bit before you can talk to him since last I saw him, he was helping Hades find some guys named Pain and Panic. Then there's Ratigan and Skyes. Ratigan is a self proclaimed criminal mastermind, and he does seem to have a keen intellect. Sykes on the other hand seems to be good at intimidation. So far those guys seem the most reliable of the ones who've arrived so far. Negaduck seems a bit too greedy and got an explosive personality. hehehe...And don't get me started on that King Candy." The Horned King thought back to the courtyard, trying to put names to faces. The boy in the blue robes... the king assumed that must have been Mozenrath. He had bowed so easily and so quickly to Maleficent and Hades, but if what Varian said was true, than perhaps his magical prowess could be of some use to the king. If nothing else, at least a kinship as practitioners of dark magics could make cooperation tolerable. The others were but an afterthought: Sykes was most likely the brute with the metal carriage, and Negaduck was clearly the unstable bird. There was no predicting if mortals such as them could comprehend the power of the cauldron, let alone find compromise in working under the king in his quest to reclaim it. Ratigan... the lich caught only a glimpse back at the courtyard... was that the name of the talking rodent? At that size, he wouldn't even be worth a sacrifice to the cauldron. It seemed, however, that Varian regarded him with some esteem, so who's to say? Of course... the only one amongst that list that the sorcerer actually knew was... King Candy. "Rest assured, young Varian. The king of Sugar Rush is not high on the list of candidates. I... thank you, for the information. I shall leave you to your creations and search around the castle for able-bodies for our mission. When the time is right, and our allies have gathered, then I shall call for you to discuss our next move." The Horned King cast one more glance over to his newest ally. "I look forward to seeing your work, young alchemist." With that, the king slunk out of the laboratory. [OOC: Going on a recruitment drive!] "Fair well your highness." Varian said as the Horned King left his room. Now with him gone, Varian could finally get to work. Varain examined the metals he and Maleficent's goons had gathers and organized them to find which ones can be remade into which parts. With the metals carefully selected, it was time to finally start melting them down. He donned his ominous welding mask and fire proof clothing turned on the flames. The heat from the furnace was intense, but Varian didn't care. In fact, there was a devilish smile on his face as he watched each piece of scrap metal slowly becoming a piece for his next automaton. Hours passed and Varian had managed to build an arm and part of the head. Even with all the scrap metal he gathered, he still needed more to build a fully functioning automaton. Still if what the Horned King said was true, he might soon have a lot more help building his army of automatons. For now though, he can focus on other projects, like rebuilding his trap compound to booby trap his lab. Though this time he'd have to get a bit more creative with it since Maleficent's lab didn't have the right chemicals to make some more. Perhaps he could substitute some chemicals with other sticky substances. It was than Varian heard Ruddiger's stomach growl. "Alright buddy, let's get you some food. Maybe there's something in the kitchen you'll like. Hmmmm...and maybe some sticky syrup for my traps." Varian said as he let Ruddiger hop on his shoulders and walked to the kitchen. (OOC: And that's when Varian left for the kitchen to chat with Maleficent and Negaduck)

It had been a while, since he left Negaduck in search of Varian, though honestly he had no idea, where to look for the boy. Luckily though after asking for a few directions, he had manage to find his way to an occupied laboratory. Judging from all the equipment, tools and a nearby journal, it certainly looked like a place Carian would be interested in. Being on friendly terms with the boy, he decided to let himself inside for a spell, to see if he would return to his lab.

Varian grumbled under his breath. At least he got a little heads up about this visit. But still, this only gave him more reason to set up some locks and traps.
"Hello Ratigan. What can I do you for?" Varian said as he put the honey away to use it later for his trap compound.

O do hope it's not too much of a bother, but a…friend of mine and I, are currently working on a business venture, and require some assistance with a project we're working on. We need some more metal parts and a good pair of working hands. And some powder for our other friend. I know, you have a nack for alchemy and technology, and so felt you would be the perfect man, to help us in our plans. You will of course, be compensated for you work, if you agree. Sound interested?"

And if it's interesting enough, I can put my project on hold for a bit to help out. So what is it?"

Though, maybe not tell my associate I told you. He seems to take it rather…personally, when others find out." Ratigan said, as he started to explain the device. "He calls it a "teleporter." If all goes according to plan, it will allow us to transport one or multiple people, to any given location, throughout this world or others. Perphabs, even other dimensions if we're lucky. We could hop from world to world, with little effort, though unfortunately we lack the necessary tools to build it. Which, is where you would come in. If, you'd be interested of course."

Your associate sounds a little odd if they expected you to tell me to build something without knowing what it is or what it does, or else they'd get mad." Varian did have a few guesses on who it was since he did meet quite a few short tempered people in the castle. The top suspect being a foul fowl who sent him here in the first place. Still, the idea of building a device that could transport things and people did interest him. Varian paused for a moment and began pacing while deep in thought as he spoke with Ratigan. "While I do like the challenge, but it's going to be hard to construct something like this from nothing. I need something to study for reference. Before today, I would have said teleportation was impossible until Maleficent and Mozenrath proved me wrong. I need to understand time to research portals and more importantly, I need something to power this teleporter. As much as I loathe the term, so far magic is the only thing I've seen capable of sending people from place to place. Hmmm...if we are going to make this work, we need help. Either a expert whose familiar with teleporting like Mozenrath or Maleficent; or we need a magic artifact that can produce the same energy frequency they create. Even then, this still will take a lot of planning and research unless some blueprints for a teleporter fall out of the sky."

And I do believe, that if it is genuine, the risks will be well worth it." Ratigan allowed the young Alchemist, to give his proposition some thought. Luckily, the boy seemed interested in the project…though, skeptical of its legitimacy. It would seem, he would have to be shown the plans personally, if this was going to work. "If it helps, said associate did leave a few notes and books containing instructions, about the device in the Archive. He's currently off elsewhere, but I like to think he wouldn't mind letting you have a look at him," That was of course a half truth, but one that Ratigan hid well. If he was going to secure Varian for his teleporter, he needed to make sure, the boy could understand the plan fully. Negaduck would understand. And if not…well, it would be best to keep it to himself for the moments. "In regards to the magic however, we did stumble upon a mysterious crystal, in the archive as well. I am not entirely sure, but I think it could have some magic contained within it.

Varian was on his way to the Storage when he passed his lab. Whatever was going on sounded big, and Varian wanted to go down there prepared. Varian grabbed a few chemical, a prototype of the new goo trap bomb, and a new staff. Plus the antidote to his growth formula. He hoped he didn't need it, but that roar sounded eeriely familiar and thought it would work as a good precaution. Hopefully with these, he'd be prepared for whatever was going on.
(OOC: Just a quick lil scene to show Varian getting his supplies before going to the Storage.)

A drill emerge from underground & pops out from a opened hole was Negaduck with the crystal still attached to him. Negaduck gasp for air while coughing out dirt from his mouth. "Never thought I'll get away from those bozos. Still who to think there was a laboratory in this castle. In any case, I should be able find all the parts I needed for my transporter device right here!" Negaduck gave a evil chuckle beforehand covers up the exposed hole with a square steel tile and a rug.
The crystal is still flashing in rapid magic but doesn't seem set for explosion, at least not yet. Negaduck stored away the crystal as he explores the laboratory a bit. He stumble across what seems to be 'notes' all written by Varian. Immediately it comes to him, this has to be Varian's lair. Not sure if both he and Varian are on 'good' terms after everything Negaduck has done so far. Perhaps he could provide a bargain for the alchemist, as he ponders, there were footstep noises. Negaduck tries to find somewhere to hide, but the crystal reacts once more and gives Negaduck to become invisible.
(OOC: So right now I'm having Negaduck in the laboratory. Not sure for how long exactly.)

"He did what to you?" Outside the door, Varian could be heard speaking to Ruddiger as the alchemist had found a way to communicate with his pet. "Well don't worry buddy, next time he'll find out what it's like to be locked inside a tight little cage." Varian opened the door and sighed loudly as he was clearly very tired after a very very long and strange day. He walked inside and locked the door behind him. "What a day. I'm still not so sure about this alliance, especially seeing as how quickly someone went rouge. But some of them do seem useful. Not to mention that is what Maleficent said is true, I should have even more resources to avenge my father when we get back." Varian clenches his fist as he day dreams of revenge, while Ruddiger looks at him worriedly knowing that this is the dangerous path.
"And one thing we accomplished is that we proved my new trap compound works just as well the old one. Ooo! That reminds me." Varian grabbed a few of his alchemical balls and loaded them onto a strange device. Then all the orbs are rolled automatically into some miniature cannons scattered across the room. "There we go. At long last, my new security system is armed. Now we don't have to worry about Negaduck or any more unexpected visitors teleporting in. Just one wrong step, and they'll be in a sticky situation. hehehe." Ruddiger rolled his eyes at the bad joke. But Ruddiger did feel more relaxed knowing that if anyone did enter their room and tripped over the thin hard to wires, they'd be trapped. Unless they have Varian's special compound spray which melts the goo or could avoid touching his hidden wires, they were good as caught.
With the traps set up, the two made their way to their beds in the room adjoining the laboratory and prepared for a good nights sleep. Little did either of them know, Negaduck was pracitcally right next to them the whole time, and that they had just made escape for the duck a lot more trickier now.

Negaduck while still invisible, eavesdrop on Varian's comments including how he views Mozenrath and the others as 'useful pawns', wanting to return Corana for revenge, notice multiple loaded guns, all sounded cool, until Varian made a painful pun. "Seriously? I heard better jokes from a newspaper article." Negaduck mumbles under his breath & continues watching when the alchemist and raccoon both fallen asleep. An hour passes, Negaduck still inside in exact same spot, ponders after he overheard everything.
"So he wishes to return to his home world and exact his revenge for poor father, eh? Well if he would've cooperative with me in the very beginning, then I might've help achieved him that goal and taking all the loot for myself of course. But now that plan been scattered in the wind thanks all those so called 'evil doers'. Now how exactly am I suppose get all these parts I needed for the teleporter?" Negaduck thoughts to himself once more. Before he could continue his train of thought, the crystal is reacting once again. "No no no! Don't you start" Before Negaduck could finish his sentence, the crystal already react and changes Negaduck.
Both Negaduck's original appearance and vocal has changed into an appearance of somebody he has already encountered. "Dischanging on me now, you hear?!" Negaduck said to the crystal quietly but immediately noticed something was off. Negaduck sees himself via a mirror and in his 'new' temporary appearance is Mozenrath?! "Mozenrath? Wait how and why? What exactly is going on here?" As his current situation couldn't get any stickier, the automatic cannons targets Negaduck after he accidentally tripped a hidden wire, starts shooting sticky balls directly at him, leaving him stuck on a wall, resist his arms, legs, and entire body except his head.. "Get me outta here!" Negaduck shouted in his Mozenrath's voice as he struggles and hopefully Varian isn't a deep sleeper.

Much to his surprise, there was Mozenrath stuck in his trap. "Mozenrath? What are you doing here? I thought you'd be out there searching for Negaduck and your crystal." Varian said as he walked towards Mozenrath, trying to hide how he thought it was hilarious seeing "Mozenrath" stuck in his trap. "Well, this should teach you not to teleport into other people's rooms without permission. I'll get you out in just a sec, then you can tell me what's going on." Varian said as he looked for the dissolving solution.
"Let's see. Acid. Nitro Glycerin. Truth serum. AH! Here it is. " Varian pulled out a spray bottle and began spraying "Mozenrath" with the solution. The goo quickly melting away almost as if it was never there.
Though as Varian searched for the potion, Ruddiger followed him out into the lab and looked at "Mozenrath" suspiciously. There was something really fishy going on here, and Ruddiger wasn't sure what. That's when he noticed something in the corner of the room, a hole. Ruddiger went over to examine the hole and trying to take a peak what was down there.
