"I'll remind you that distractions ARE my forte," Mozenrath called over. "All you need to do is say the word, and the duck won't be able to take his eyes off what I have planned for him."

Electricity raced passed the Horned King's head and struck near his feet, causing him to lurch backwards, scowling all the while. They were far too close to comfort. It was not a graceful or dignified look, though the king cared little for others' opinions in the first place, possibly perhaps even less so during conflict.
He shambled closer towards the group, making sure to stand behind the shields Mozenrath had formed. "The duck is a most irksome opponent... he even figured to shield the crystal from taking any sort of damage."
The lich had overheard Varian's plan and was willing to give the young alchemist his shot in immobilizing Negaduck, though the back of his mind recalled the incident in the library in how his concoctions had become unstable through sheer force.
Sheer force... Unstable powers...
Perhaps...
He turned to Mozenrath. "I shall assist you in crafting a distraction for young Varian. However, that is merely another step in forcing the blasted bird down. We must find a way to either strip the crystal from his possession... or neutralize it completely."

"You don't NEUTRALIZE a Crystal of Ix!" Mozenrath snapped. "Once they turn on, they DO NOT turn off! ...Believe me. I learned that lesson the hard way at Dagger Rock. That was a fun two weeks. Point being, we need to get it back, and that's what we're making the distraction for IN THE FIRST PLACE!"
Though he realized, then, that a certain possibility had never really occurred to him.
"Then again...I never have tested out EXACTLY what happens if you OVERLOAD a crystal. It's small. If we both hit it with everything we got, it juuuuust might not be able to handle it. But that's a gamble."

Negaduck felt the intense slashing from both Ratigan and Ruddiger's claws. Having enough the raccoon playing hide-and-seek in the snow as well in smokescreen back at Storage room, Negaduck summons a wave of water with his powers. Because of this, all the snow in the garden has been washed away and those protected behind Mozenrath's magical shield remain all safe & dry despite the oncoming flood, unaware for whatever scheme they're cooking up.
"That stupid raccoon has to show up anytime now, once I know where he'll flush up, I'll tangle him up with those thorn vines, and then I'll turn my focus on magic geek squad. But first." Negaduck thoughts to himself on his next move before noticing Ratigan is still climbing in rage on his plantlike arm. Negaduck begins waving his arm, hoping to shake Ratigan off into the water, but with Ratigan's claws jab deep, he might as well 'spill the beans'. "Aww what's the matter, Professor? Why are you so furious? Can't be because I betray you out of my own despires? Didn't you once told me you plotted to kill that alchemist and his allies/pals once you gain what you wanted from them? Perhaps it's why YOU enlisted me for my talents and thus making you the true RAT in all this chaos?!" Negaduck mockery Ratigan in a calm tone and proceed play mind game by speaking loudly so Mozenrath & the others could listen if anything Negaduck said about Ratigan is truth or false rumours. On top of that, Negaduck called Ratigan the one word he deeply despise the most, referred as a rat.

On top of that, Negaduck called Ratigan the one word he deeply despise the most, referred as a rat. Ordinarily, Ratigan would've exploded at the mention of his hated nickname. But Varian's potion, had done more than just increase Ratigan's abilities, it had also effected his mind. At this stage, he no longer cared about what he was called or not, he simply wanted to tear the duck limb from limb. Still, that didn't mean he was completely mindless, as he soon responded with a loud laugh and proclamation: "Do you really think they'll fall for that? You're just trying to split us up. Making us fight each other, so that you can kill those that remain! I always knew, you were unfit for this alliance, which is why I told Mozenrath that you took the crystal! You were nothing more, than a liability! One that I intend, to rid off!" With that, Ratigan climbed up the arm, and jumped towards his face, claws out to start slashing at it.

The Horned King listened to Mozenrath's explanation, though his eyes briefly strayed towards Negaduck and his ramblings followed by the now enlarged Ratigan's form (who the king hadn't even realized was here until he grew to match Ruddiger's current size) roaring at him in rage and attacking. The duck was egging on the others with falsehoods about the professor's possibly treachery towards them. Even if it were true - which the king didn't even take a second to consider it being so - what was Ratigan to do against sorcerers and big game hunters? Gnaw their ankles to the bone? No, he wasn't that bestial, his current status notwithstanding, even less so foolish.
Returning his attention to Mozenrath, the lich rasped. "A gamble we must make, less we allow the duck's rampage to continue and annihilate us one by one."
Channeling more energy, the king formed two separate spheres in each of his hands. In his left blazed an orange orb of flame; his right held a shadowy ball of shadow. Both swirled ominously in his grasp as eyed up his enlarged target, looking for the most optimal place to send his power. It was absolutely a risk to add more elements into the mix of Negaduck's already established list of powers, but the crystal certainly MUST have a limit.
"I am sufficiently prepared to... distract the cretin," the Horned King proclaimed.

"You have a point there, your excellence" Clayton said, he wasn´t sure if the lich was royal or not, still assuming he was a member of the five, he could figure he must had some sort of nobility status. He hoped the sorcerers could give him time enough to go close enough to Negaduck to throw Varian´s experiment without getting noticed.

As the fight continued on, a sniper perched himself on a particular platform on the outskirts of the Thorn Gardens. Admittedly, he was a little disturbed that Negaduck had seemed to gain new magical abilities and had become a much bigger threat than he originally was...but that only made things more fun.
At the moment, all he was waiting for was the window of opportunity to fire. He had kept a careful eye through his scope watching the fight. He kept a careful eye on where everyone was, making sure to note specifically where Ruddiger and what appeared to be a bigger Ratigan constantly getting into close-quarters combat with him. Negaduck made a necklace to hold the crystal while the Varian boy and Clayton were calling out to Mozenrath and the Horned King, who both started to ignite lights of energy from their hands...maybe to cause a distraction for what was happening over there?
Well, might as well add to the chaos.
To their credit, Ratigan seemed to be what Negaduck was paying attention to since he was able to get Negaduck to look away from McLeach's direction. So he took aim directly at Negaduck's plant-like shoulder, did his best to judge the possible change of direction due to the strong winds through the magic already circulating there, adjusted...and fired hoping to blow off a part of the plant-like arm.
[[ Heard people were talking about me ;P ]]

Mozenrath nodded at the Horned King. "Dropping shield in three...two...one."
He didn't just dispel the shield. He shattered it into a million shards that proceeded to fly at Negaduck, glittering in the sun (and with a bit of extra magical sparkle to make them more eye-catching). All eventually headed right for that little crystal to be sucked up by its absorbent power - but if they gave the duck a few nicks and scratches on the way, that would be a bonus. The shards flitted about like paper airplanes, making a roundabout path to their crystalline target in order to create maximum damage against the monstrously mutated duck.

Varian followed after Clayton hoping he would lead a safe path past the vines. Though there was a big problem still. Even though most of the water was gone, there were still puddles everywhere. "Careful, if we step in any of these puddles, we could be done for. Negaduck could try and manipulate the water, or use his electricity to zap the water." As Varian spoke about the Electricity, he had and idea. Looking at his new staff, he had an idea. The metal in his staff would work as a lightning rod to draw electricity away from them. Only issue was where to put it. Then he realized the answer and tossed his staff to towards Clayton. "Here, throw this staff into that device on Negaduck's chest! Don't ask why, just trust me. It will help." Clayton was more fit than Varian and might have better luck. Besides, Varian had to focus on using the goo orb on his legs and hopefully keep him pinned to one spot. (OOC: I'm gonna be busy tomorrow too and most of Christmas too.)

The Horned Kind synchronized on Mozenrath's cue, throwing both of his hands out towards the gigantic monster duck and launching his orbs of fire and shadow. They spun around one another, growing larger as they flew towards their target. They followed alongside the other sorcerer's sharp shield parts (a unique tactic from Mozenrath, though the king wouldn't admit it aloud), hoping to hit the Crystal of Ix as well.
If they missed and simply singed Negaduck's body or blackened his vision... well... at least the attack would surely be distracting.
[OOC: Just like everyone else, I'll probably be pretty busy the next few days. I hope everyone has a wonderful and Merry Christmas/Happy Holiday!]

After taking couple more slashes from Ratigan, Negaduck shoots a bolt of electricity directing at the rat. When Ratigan crashes back down near the thorns after defrost from Mozenrath's blizzard spell and given Negaduck's powers to control plants, the thorns immediately lashes the rat down, restricting him from getting free for as long they can.
"To be honest, I did considered bringing you along if things could've all gone according to MY plan, but I see now your allegiance is rather with Team Losers." After Negaduck finished taunting Ratigan, when one headache is resolved, another problems rolls in times two. In this case, both The Horned King and Mozenrath launched their distraction ploy, which now captures Negaduck's attention.
"Just give me a tiny break!" Negaduck mutters to himself when he took full blasts from the two sorcerers. When expecting another spell from either Horned King or Mozenrath, Negaduck summons yet another wave of water towards them, in hopes to wash them away perhaps even drown.
