McLeach's zoning out broke at the King's words for a moment. He sighed in agreement as he put the feather in his cap. "Yeah, some brat who could talk to animals was able to find the bird. Even called the bird Mara-huchie or...something like that. Couldn't even be bribed..." He then thought about one of the last things King Candy mentioned. "Wait, a medallion?" he asked quizzically, getting back into his food. "Why would a medallion be important to this Ralph guy?" King Candy was about to say something about that brat when McLeach asked him about the medallion that Wreck-It Ralph wanted. "Well, this Ralph guy claimed he wanted respect. Or more specifically: he wanted to look like a hero. And I mean look like one, because he destroyed buildings, and that's not heroic. In fact, people called him Wreck-It Ralph." He then took another sip from his wine. "Anyways, that brat that you had to deal with must've been a smart one. At least Ralph was an idiot." "The brat wasn't alone," McLeach scowled, slowly realizing what had happened to himself. "He had his animal friends to help him." Then it dawned on him; he recognized something the King said. "Wait...Wreck-It Ralph?" he asked, taking a good long look at King Candy. "Isn't that the bad guy character from...oh, what's that game called...Fix it Felix! Yeah, that's the one. Damn...haven't had to think about that one in a while..."

In that case, King Candy might just as well tell him that he was actually a game character too. "Actually... yes, Wreck-It Ralph is from the game 'Fix-It Felix Jr.'. And I happen to be a game character too. I originally came from the game 'TurboTime'. And 'RoadBlasters' and 'Sugar Rush' are also games." Then he took another sip from his wine, and then a thought came up in him. Even though he now felt confident about telling he was from an arcade game, he still couldn't say too much about the Cy-Bugs. That could make his story less plausible. "Since 'RoadBlasters' became more popular than 'TurboTime', I sabotaged 'RoadBlasters'. Both games ended up unplugged forever, and then I invaded the game 'Sugar Rush'. Any more questions?"

I knew that Turbo and Road Blasters sounded like games. Probably American based. I don't know. I haven't been in an arcade in years...mostly because I haven't been allowed in regular society in years." He took another few chugs of his beer before turning his attention back to King Candy. "Honestly, I have waaaaay too many questions about waaay too many things right now," he commented. "In my world, sorcerers are myths, monsters like the goons that guard this place don't exist, and video game characters aren't doing their own things when no one's lookin'. I'm just a poacher that traded more 'civilized' games with hunting game. I'm in waaaay over my head right now. The only reason why I'm not completely freaking out is because I'm trying to distract myself."

He didn't make haste finishing it, though, so he decided to reply to McLeach again. "Well, if you have any questions about me or my story, feel free to ask them, but I don't think I have any answers for any questions about Maleficent or her plans." He then decided to change the subject. "Right now, I'm waiting for missions to come up. In the meantime, I spend my time exploring this castle and getting acquainted with my fellow villains."

Hopefully, we get to do that very soon!" Then he finished his sandwich, and then he had something else to say. "However, Maleficent could also send us to collect resources, like gold, food, or some ancient treasure. Or, even better, steal them."

Admittedly, it all did sound exciting for McLeach...but one thing didn't make sense. "Excuse me...uh, King Candy," McLeach stood up and cleared his throat, "but how exactly could a puffball like yourself hunt a hero? I know you said something about taking over a few racing games...but I can't see exactly how you think you can stand up against the heroes we're supposed to be facing."

King Candy didn't exactly look threatening. "Umm... I could run them over with a race cart..." He then began to drink his wine again, and then he remembered something. He could enter Cy-Bug mode, and transform into an insectoid monster. But was it wise to show it to McLeach? And even more importantly: was it wise to do it in the kitchen? "Oh wait, I can also grow immensely! However, I don't want to do it here in the kitchen. If I'd transform here, that could get messy." But then he came up with an idea. "How about going to the courtyard? We have much more room over there. There, I can transform without making a mess." (OOC: What about doing the dishes? Do the villains have to do that themselves, or can they let Maleficent's goblin goons do that?)

McLeach's eyes widened with disbelief, but he was curious. "Oh, this I gotta see," he chuckled as he took his mug of ail and pocketed his knife. "Let's go." He begins to make his way out the kitchen to the Courtyard. ((And off we go!))

(OOC: Since Makuta mentioned being busy this weekend, I wanted to still have Varian do something to keep active until I can resume his chat with the Horned King.)
Sometime after getting a good start on building the next automaton and getting to know the Horned King, Varian decided it was time to work on his next project. Two uninvited guests barging in on his lab was too much for Varian and he decided it was time to start rigging up a batch of his sticky compound to trap anyone entering his lab without his permission. While he had a fair amount of chemicals in the lab, he still need a little something to actually make it sticky. Luckily some syrup in the kitchen might do the tricky.
So Varian began searching the kitchen for syrup while Rudiger began helping himself to any food he could find in the kitchen. "Syrup...syrup...syrup...Uggghhhh! Who organizes this kitchen? This place looks more like a pig stye than a kitchen."
And at that moment, one of Maleficent's goon who happened to resembled a pig marched by the kitchen entrance and passed Varain. "Huh. That might explain why."

Maleficent was furious with Hades. The fool had allowed his miserable minions to potentially overhear a particularly sensitive matter in the Topmost Tower. She was also irritated at Jafar and Grimhilde's tardiness and their own impact on her lack of power. She needed to find them both quickly to ensure her own powers remained. She felt weak and her head was beginning to hurt. Then again, she hadn't eaten since this whole ordeal began. A nice hot meal was starting to sound incredibly good. Perhaps Jafar could wait until after a stop by the kitchen.
Maleficent entered the kitchen and nodded politely when she saw Varian.
"Good afternoon. I trust you're acclimating well."
Just then, her drained powers, exhaustion from stress, and lack of anything in her stomach hit Maleficent particularly hard. She felt woozy and ill, and she stumbled a bit. Maleficent clutched the kitchen counter to catch herself before she could fall. She shifted from the counter to propping herself on her staff, and she clutched her forehead with a deep sigh.

"Hello your highness." Varian wasn't exactly sure if Maleficent was royalty or not, but he figured it seemed like the most appropriate way to show her respect and she did own the castle. Varian had been hoping for a moment alone to work uninterrupted, but at least Maleficent was more courteous that Mozenrath and the Horned King. Though what was really surprising was seeing Maleficent of all people looking weak. Without thinking, Varian rushed over to offer her a hand. "Are you all right Maleficent? Do you need some help." As Varian said those words out loud, he realized something was very off. The woman who was threatening them all earlier and claiming to have great power form a prophecy seemed unusually vulnerable. Varian wasn't sure at this point if that was a good or bad thing. But still, he continued to offer his hand out to assist Maleficent if she needed it since he still wasn't heartless enough to leave someone when they needed help...unlike a certain blondie he could think of.

"My honorific title is 'Excellency,' not 'highness,'" Maleficent corrected as she took Varian's hand. Perhaps if she focused on the trivial matters, she could ignore how ill she was feeling. Maleficent used Varian for support to guide her over to one of the chairs by the table. She sat down and rested her elbow on the table whilst propping her head up on her arm. "I shall be fine," she assured him... and herself in the process. "I simply have over-exerted myself today, and, in the process, I have neglected to eat or drink as I should." Maleficent paused for a moment before adding another remark. "Thank you, boy," she said. The words tasted strange... almost foreign to Maleficent. She was unused to offering her thanks liberally. The next request, asking for help, would be even stranger for her. "Now, if you would be so kind, a glass of water and something to eat would be appreciated."

"Here you go, hope these help...Say, this might sound strange but do you have any syrup in this kitchen? Or anything sticky I could use?" Maleficent began to nibble on the pieces of fruit that Varian brought her. She also used her magic to call an emerald flame to her hands in order to quickly toast the bread before eating it as well. " Sticky?" Maleficent asked with a puzzled look on her face. "I suppose honey might serve your purposes. There should be a few jars of it in the back of the pantry. Might I ask what this viscid interest of yours is all about?"
